KSS Patrol Report - June 26

This morning I chose to patrol the Trinsic area, on reports of a bridge access being blocked by villainous persons. Surely, the intent was to control traffic and tax parrerby. I arrived at the West Trinic bridge, and a structure had been erected to block the way. I called out to the inhabitant, and none other than Lord Wulf came forth to meet my challenge.

His attack was mighty, and he drove me off the bridge, and back. I refreshed my supplies and returned. No villain would keep honest citizens from crossing, and while I yet had breath, I would see my task done.

We engaged in battle, just us two, and we fought for a quarter hour. His strength and skill was great, and I was hard put to finish him, and his attacks pushed me back many times.

At one point, I had him circling, regrouping himself, but his skill in healing was such that he was back in the fight in moments.

From the bridge, a lone member of the clan bearing the badge of Eb2 happened by, and Wulf fell upon him and slew him after a chase up the road. Wulf sneered, "You failed to protect him, knight." I was irked, but I had no less rage before, and so renewed my attack with the same calm detachment - this was work, and I must defeat this foe.

Coming to the aid of their fallen comrade, was another of the clan EB2. I wished to complete this battle alone, but Eb2 had the Right of Revenge, which cannot be denied. Wulf revelled in the danger of it, and led us through the ant tunnels. We fought in the winding passages, much to the irritation of the great ants that dwell there.

His valor not to be questioned, he fought us in that pit. The other fallen Eb2 joined his brother, and eventually our three to his one, he fell.

I gathered what things were left by the Eb2, and delivered them to his door. I kept only a shield, since Wulf owed me one from an earlier battle.

My patrol of Trinsic done, I turned and rode south.

*feels relieved the battle ended when it did, and not 2 minutes later when those bandies would have run out*

Very entertaining read!

I just have to say, that Wulf gets +3 bonus points for battle fashion flair distributed as follows:

+1 for coordinating mount & robe color
+1 for contrasting but complementary shield color
+1 for overall dashing figure effect of standing on porch to face off with knight

That armor is standard knight issue. If you have a problem with it, then take it up with the steward, Lady Miranda!

Oh honey aint got nothing to do with the armor... just the mismatched pieces and colors.
And when did you start getting clothes from Miranda... thought all your stuff was picked up off the ground?

As steward of the Knights of The Silver Serpent's restocks and supply houses, wherever all these facilities may be in our world, tis my task to make sure every house is choc full of STANDARD ISSUE military uniform parts/leather armors/robes/etc. all of which are hand crafted & dyed basic KSS blue, by either myself as guild crafter or by Otto or MJ etc. And STANDARD MILITARY issue ISS armors robes etc. items in the ISS restocks, are all handled by Knight Toth.

Many a dashing figure fashion plate, be they villian or no, fighter or no, exist and live in our world, wonderfully arrayed in color co ordinated items and %%%%%% of whatevers twinkie trammie items even, and would win the Skylark fashion awards 10x over compared to the members of KSS. . save for when we had Castor darting about the countryside in KSS blues and in BLAZE...most of us stick to our required wearing uniform/clothing/ armor parts in ye... basic dyed KSS blues.

I hath seen yon Wulf whom is a wonderous sort of stabby fellow and aye he is perfectly matched even dyed his self and his pony to match !!!

Normally KSS is matched in ONE hue...standard military issue no frills, dyed KSS blue.

Now ifn one dies out there, gets drylooted, before they get back to restocks or their banks or homes to get back into battle, then if a passing mongbat even has a goret of whatever hideous color on their corpse, darn skippy we may be wearing that goret instead, till we get properly re equipped again...even if the mongbat's goret was some hideous color or hue. Why I found a mongbat with some 17% resists in one resist item alone, just the other day, whole ugly mongbat loot goret nearly offered the same protections as a sami helmet !!
Rare find on a mongbat ..darn skippy & I took that into restock !

Resourcefulness to quickly re equip in whatevers...instead of opting to be fighting fashion plate statements, is a good thing for any fighting Knight.
Tis rare that the Knights will be carrying a cloth and leather dye tub around all the time to *perfectly match* when they are too busy fighting and dying out there, losing their stuffs so I have to make more, to care if they *match or not* out there in the field.

But many a citizen seem to enjoyeth offing or trying to off our Knight Commander Py, so aye he be in whatever mismatched whatevers out there many a day mayhaps shouting ..."I am too busy fighting with thee ...to be color co ordinated".

Yet when Iantown held yon fashion show contest year ago past, while many won in many catagorys of blazed and matched colors in the fancier catagorys, twas me lil self that went in utterly MISMATCHED dressed as court jestor like IMANEWBIE and won..twas hideously mismatched ! Sometimes it pays to be...UNIQUE and utterly...unmatched to the nines to stand out in a world of neon blazened everyone looks just like ...>>>>>>>>>>> matching..trammel on Siege ! HAHA

I do me best but................even if they leave fully equipped and *matching* they will usually come back freshly res'd naked/looted or...even gasp... mis matched !

What's the point of causing chaos and mayhem (Or, from the other side, averting the aforementioned awesomeness) if you're not dressed well enough to fully maximize the female swooning and swooning-related activities?

"Oh, brave sir knight, thou hast saven mine puppy from the evil Lord Wulf! Wilt thou doest me the honour of a ki... Brave sir knight, here is a tic-tac. And art thou wearing socks with thine sandals? And tuckest in thine shirt! Thou knowest what? I forgotest, I dost have work early on the morrow. Don't calleth me, I shall calleth thou."

I have to wonder how many times something very similar to this has been uttered by some well-meaning LARPer at a Ren Faire.. lol
