Knitted Shame

Ok, loving the stuff to do in shame now but can i (possibly others) get our old 2d rocks back?
The new ones look like its a knitted blanket in 2d.
All for you boosting the artwork in the EC but why do us 2d'ers have to suffer?
If i wanted beutiful graphics i'd be playing skyrim. I want content and bug fixes.
I play UO 2d for simply that reason.......its 2d.

The rocks do look a bit wonky..not sure what happened here but they are a bit odd looking.

Spots like that and the jagged edges/etc are from the "conversion" of the map they did back for KR (i think, could have actually been EC lauch, I wasn't playing during either but it didn't look like that when i left around 07). I still have copies of the old map files and the dungeons looked far...far better before that (heck, the overland areas looked way better in the 2d client as well)

It would actually be trivial to look at differences between the map files and merge changes back without ruining the rocks/creating jaggies (would take me about 10 minutes), but running with the modified map file would kinda be "gray area" as you're modifying client data (even if it is just visual).

Its the entire 5 levels of the dungeon.

Personally it doesn't bother me...I don't really look at the walls as I'm running through, and everything else looks fine to me.

Only thing that bothers me right there is that bridge...there's only a 1-tile area you can walk on to get onto the bridge and it's a bit tricky lol.

it's not just a "spot" anywhere, all rockfaces (the ones in ilsh are REALLY REALLY BAD) and water edges have been messed up since. I'll try to get a screenshot of what some areas looked like before but the CC looks terrible now compared to how the world liked 5 years ago, 9/10 tiles are missing.

I'm a news reporter and content editor - this does not mean I know what every single creature is in a screen shot and considering I play in 2D and I've never seen a creature that looks like that one I had to ask.

It's a cyclops, they look the same in both clients and have been in game since T2A I believe. Bad reporter! No coffee!

Edit: Just saw the lower picture, I'd guess it's an ogre.

Unfortunately, that was an EARLY promo image and those specific trees were never even used. And I believe the building is an example of what they could have done with JUST the KR client had they not been hobbled by the tile-based nature of the 2d client architecture.

The creature I believe is an early example of what is not the Ogre model in EC.

I use the EC daily. So does many other people. If it were me(devs/EA) I`d scrap that 2d clunker and get with the program.

The irony in these two statements is that is was the continuing existence of the 2d client that was one of the issues that kept the KR client from being fully realized.

Personally I think graphics updates and such should be limited to the EC.

I know a lot of people play the CC but most of them want it left alone as well.

I also know a guy that still drives a 72 Cadilllac even though it gets 6 miles to a gallon and he can never find a parking space that will fit it. He also pays an extra fee on his plates every year cause it won't meet modern emission standards.
But he loves it And thats's his right.

But people that play the EC have embraced change.. people that don't.. won't.

Do not waste resources on the CC..
