I decided to move carpentry to another character and add imbuing to my crafter..

Thanks especially to NuSair for breaking things down into little baby steps.. Seems a little more attemptable that way.
Feel free to ask anyone of us if you need it broken down even more. NuSair is good at it as are a bunch of us and the warrior and crafters thread are very active and helpful for that.

Since you're training imbuing, I suggest that if you run into an imbuing blue, pack as many bags as you can of neo shame loot, use the scroll and unravel them.
You will get awesome gains that way, and with 90 or so imbuing you will already be capable of imbuing decent gear.
Also keep in mind that the Ter Mur gems vendor reset every so often, so the gems prices will usually be cheaper there.

Anytime.

While you don't have to, having imbuing on your main crafter helps. Though, keep in mind there are wooden items you can craft and imbue.

And it's like Mirt said, it can be broken down even more. If you can't get me, there are a number of others that are just as good, if not better than I am at it.

So... on further reflection I've decided instead of moving Carpentry to make room for Imbuing. I'm gonna move Mining. Carpentry, Tinkering, Smithing, etc all interact where mining can stand alone.
Thinking I might move my Mining skill to my Treasure Hunter via a Soulstone... But I need a little advice on how to do this..

Lemme make sure I have it right..
Lock my soulstone down at my house..
Log into crafter.. store Mining on stone..
Log out. Log back in as Cartographer

Here's where I'm not sure.. set Mining "up"
Set sufficient things to "down" to cover points (100 no PS)
click Soulstone and move Mining to Cartography guy?

That's kinda a drag too, to see old school mobs poof - reborn w/ a multiple of HP. Stupid was the dev move to do this, when a new "Ancient Gazer" could have explained it, leaving the others to be killed in various areas. Add to, not take away - guess they forgot
Hm...the Eternal Gazers are very difficult, Shame LVL 4. The Strange Gazers, Covetous LVL 1, aren't difficult. No Gazer spawn exists in Covetous other than the Strange Gazers.

The Eternal Gazers are harder than most of the Shame LVL 5 creatures, which is kind of weird. I used to kill Covetous LVL 2 Elder Gazers ten years ago, when people still farmed gold. Kind of funny. Such a long time ago, now.

You got it.

Soulstones are great. As I mentioned in another thread in the crafting forum. I only have 1 crafter, but have GMed or 120ed around 10 of the crafting skills. Just using the 8 soulstones locked down at my house, I just put whatever skills I need to use on my crafter.

I started on these only in the last few years, those and blood ele's, end of an era in more ways than one. I don't see myself even setting foot in those 'new' areas now. Farming is kinda mindless in a way, especially 2-3 hit kills, and almost a grind, but I get immediate gratification which makes it all fun for me. The 3 rat spawns for example. I have loads of Fun killing all until the renowns pop, then I just quit and go elsewhere. Only recently did I even collect essence or resources, killing just for the sheer fun of it.
Fortunately, old school elders and bloods spawn elsewhere, For Now. I'd like to hear more on UO's future direction concerning these 'upgrades'.

Killing the rat bosses for fun? Eep...or should I say eek? ;)

I like stuff like fairy dragons, you kill two dozen and get over 40k gold and stuff you can use for imbuing.

fairy give me karma loss - my preference is actually the Daemon spawn above the rats. That gives me a Ton of kills (low end spawn), a bunch of harder kills(daemons), then a level slightly tougher (those 'other' daemons). great variety and satisfying. i leave the boss, announcing it in gen chat for whoever wants it.

IMO though the ants are harder to kill than the fairy dragons and give less loot.

I think one of the devs said it was ok to lure mobs around (not on other players) to get to the mobs you want... I get ALL the ants to follow me away from the other spawn up the stairs to the altar near the entrance of Medusa's lair - I wait, they never show so I go back to see where they are - I guess they die of boredom easily, all dead, so I loot and go on my way. Doesn't get any easier than that. sometimes I find a dead fairy too, that probably died laughing at the ants.
