Keeping Aggro

My daughter and I started some characters over on Perenolde (her bestest buddy from High School is over there, and yes, I had to delete a less played character to do so). She has a dwarf priest (shadow atm) and I have a paladin (what a surprise, eh?).

Yesterday we questing in the Wetlands at the excavation site. If I tried to tank, as soon as she did any damage on the critter, it would go after her. Then I would have to run where she was to continue pounding on it. I tried putting that "pisses monsters off with holy spells for 30 minutes" buff, but that didn't seem to do much good. She was at levle 26, I was at level 25.

So how do you get a paladin to get and hold aggro?

BTW, if you can't tell, I don't group much.

Sorry for the slow reply, but here is what I have noticed.

When I play, I almost always game with my wife. We have a pair of characters for each day of the week, but our mains are my 60th Pally and her 60th hunter. I have specced him all Holy and just recently respecced him all Retrib with a few down Holy after Retrib tree was full.

Let me describe the typical encounter.

We see a large, venomous spider, and we need its fang for a quest, so she sends in her coyote, while I charge in! The coyote gets there first, then the lil dwarf comes huffy up and begins thumping after the coyote has taken a few bites out of it. Then once I land a few good hits, my wifes hunter begins shooting from a distance while we thump it up close.

Then what? The coyote and I chase behind it as it runs to the Hunter because she just out aggroed us. Its funny really but yeah, all in all, a Pally isn't the one to hold aggro.

Least in my experience.
