I have the choice of build two custom 18's side by side, or keeping my Keep. Which would you choose?

Keep or 2 18's Side by Side?

depends. Personally I would rather have a keep, with a large amount of grass on all sides, than two 18x18s squashed next to each other.
If you're an absolute sucker for customization, go with the 18x18s, otherwise the keep holds many advantages - one less account to pay for, tried and tested "impressive" design, great fun to decorate (custom houses just aren't as fun to decorate as classics, cos you find yourself making a design to suit the decoration you wanted - classic houses forces you to be creative with your items, which is great fun, again imo)

For storage go with the keep, it would be one account with 3500 storage or so and a spare account to place another house. If storage is a non-issue and you love to customize then go with the 2 18x18s. Properly placed, you can always drop them later and put up the keep if you're going to be selling it (would probably go for more money as a keep than two houses).

Personally I'd go the 18's =)
But then, I just sold a castle to go to an 18 x 18 cos I found the castle to be ugly, unwieldly and just plain inconvenient =P I don't actually think castles and keeps are "impressive" (as in, I don't "get" the "status symbol" thing attached to them) I just think they're ugly
ONLY advantage they have is storage, which is why I got one in the first place - but I decided downsizing was better for me =)

Thank you for the replies. The Keep is in Trammel and is flanked by one house, but it is up against a forest in the front, and a bay in the back. There are multiple 18's spaces on my server to hold the side by sides. I am just going to take my time and think a little. Good points raised though. Thanks.
Well I would go with the keep. Obviously you have 2 accounts if you were gonna have 2 18x18's. So go with the keep and also place a 18x18. You win both ways.
