Keep just went improperly placed...:(

Hi, a lady placed an 18 behind my keep and now my house says improperly placed. ( on LS) I had a two story in about the same spot and dropped it. The two story did not cause my home to go improper.

Can anyone tell me what this means? Is my house ruined?

Why did the game allow the placement if it was not correct?

There are a few times when placement ranges overlap slightly - usually where the front of one house overlaps with the back of another. I am not describing it will - the houses do not overlap - but the reserved space in front or behind occasionally do.

Your house is perfectly safe and at no risk of any sort. The only thing you can not do is drop the house and replace it (why would you with a keep?).

Ty for reply sir. Replacement was not the point. I have tried in many spots to place a house the game will not allow me too. I get no leeway with it.

She did, why? :(

Re: Keep just went placed improperly placed...:(

Same thing happened with my keep on great lakes, but it was do to a publish/patch not someone placing behind it. publish/patch at times can sift the lands causing housing to go improperly placed. It's rare that this happens tho. Possible fix that worked for me I transfer my keep waited a few weeks transfer it back next few publishes it was back to being properly placed.

Ty for information Lady Michelle. Her steps are 4 tiles away from the rear towers is why this happened I think. The jut in part of the keep is 5 from her steps. The towers are 4.

The GM said do not page GMs about improper homes. I would like to know why she was allowed to place is all. It was not 5 tiles all the way across. I sent in an ask the devs question, maybe someone kind will explain this.

Cyrah,

Think it might have anything to do with the steps? When you place a classic house, you can see the steps on the image when you try to place. When you are plopping down a custom house the steps don't show until you get the confirmation gump. May be possible that something is off when placing a custom house behind a keep?

Its been probably 6 years since I have done serious house placement, so I am a little rusty and just guessing.

Well I can't say this with any certainty but I had two things cross my mind when reading this post.

First houses will become improperly placed when the front steps of the house behind get the stairs changed if there are any blocks on the stairs behind your keep this may be the reason... if the owner were to change them back to normal stairs it would probably fix the problem.

The comment about classic houses poses a new idea though placing closer behind castles and keeps using classic houses and then turning them into customs many of the old houses don't have steps the whole length of the house I don't know if that matters but with the custom plots you get stairs the whole length, using a classic might allow one to place a house closer.

Just my thoughts on the matter I'd love to have someone test that theory and let us know.

Tyvm AtlanticVlad, there are indeed blocks in her steps design. Two on each side of her 4 steps. She seemed so pleased with her work, I do not think changing it will happen. It is a very nicely built home.

I hope a Gm reads these boards and snaps to the cause of this so the next player who pages will not get such an uncaring reply.

Sadly what you got was the typical GM response.
