Just wondered what some of the quickest ways to gain karma are that you guys have found
Demons; evil mages; high-level demonic monsters like onis and balrons and succubui (or however that's spelled); lich lords; ancient liches.Just wondered what some of the quickest ways to gain karma are that you guys have found
There is an upper and lower cap for Karma, although I don't remember what it is.
However, aside from having it visible in the client, The details haven't changed from what's described on the main UO Stratics site, which includes the karma caps.
On the Fame and Karma Reputation Titles page it just says, generically, "10,000 and above".........Are there caps for gaining Fame and Karma?
All actions that earn Fame or Karma have caps. You have to perform deeds greater than your current Fame or Karma to raise them. So, if you're used to raising your Fame by killing Daemons, you'll gain slower and slower until eventually you won't gain at all.
Only at - 32000 Karma your evil enough

Was about to say, I have a newer toon I used a cloak of corruption with to train healing up.. Got to -32000 pretty quick, he's something like positive 13000 now... Just took a couple of lich spawns to get him to GL, that's the fastest way I've seen..Only at - 32000 Karma your evil enough

Most chivalry spell formulas are based on +/-20,000 karma, is there any bonus for going beyond these values?
No, the karma value is capped at -20,000 for chivalry spells. Going lower than this value does not have any effect. *(need a real FoF verification for this)
as far as exact numbers, no one will tell us how muchspells to last for longer....
Is that the same for negative Karma for necromancy spells ?
I have a paladin that did max out karma at +32000. According to some of the formulas that the devs listed, there's no real benefit to karma past +20000. I think holy light is suppose to have some effect, but it's probably limited to 20000 karma too.It was my understanding that positive (+) Karma help chivalry spells to last for longer....
Does this mean that there is no point to raise Karma beyond +20,000 to make Chivalry spells last more ?? It stops at +20,000 ??
Is that the same for negative Karma for necromancy spells ? It makes no use to drop below -20,000 to have necromancy spells last for longer ?
Thanks for the clarification.
If you put -32k karma to the above formula, you end up with a complex number. To solve this, they probably capped karma inside the formulations at 20k:The base formula is as follows: duration in seconds = (square root(karma + 20000 + (Chivalry*100)) / divisor)
For example, at -20,000 karma and 50.0 Chivalry, Enemy of One spell duration is: (divisor = 1)"Karma" can be anything from -20000 to 20000.
