I also like some of the things I am seeing. I like the communication that is happening, it seems more than it ever has before. I like the cheaters houses levelled, items deleted, and accounts banned. But honestly it isn't enough yet.
We've been putting up with cheaters, pvp'ing, warping around the game at ungodly speeds since the game was first created. That's ten years, and it is still happening. We've been putting up with scripters ruining the economy and making game play in general completely unfair for those that don't since the game was first created. That's ten years, and it is still happening. We've been putting up with double casting, insta-casting, lightning fast casting while being protected, exploits breaking the cool down time between drinking pots for years now, and it is still happening. In game gm support has been horrendous ever since the counsellor program ended, and that was over eight years ago now.
I'm encouraged with what I have seen, but there are still a ton of very serious issues that need to be dealt with that haven't been. I don't like the focus on always catching the "big fish" and the resulting splashy pr, when things like Punk Buster, which would have done far more to clean up the game than these big events, weren't implemented because the lawyers couldn't hammer out an agreement.
So yes, I'm cautiously optimistic as a result of what I have seen recently, but I am far from being flat out impressed.
