I strongly disapprove of the direction they are going with the economy and anti-scripting changes. While I'm all for lowering how much gold people can rake in, and the death of scripting wouldn't upset me in the least, I think the path they have taken has too great an impact on whatever honest players may be left.

And the Valentine's event...while it was nice they did it and I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything...it kinda scares me that after the 10th anniversary they can still be so unready for dealing with how players handle events. I kinda think that using one list for a staggered scavenger hunt would have been an obvious no no. However...she did at least learn from it and modify the event before it was over...so that's something. I just don't understand why she had to learn the hard way.

"how long do we look at yet another clump of pitch-hued flaming debris in this game that served no purpose?"

My guess is we'll get to look at it until the second part of the plan is implemented, namely house script placing countermeasures.

As far as "served no purpose", MILLIONS of boards, ingots and every other resource in the game was removed with the burning of these houses. Not millions of gold worth, but actually millions of each commodity, not to mention the thousands upon thousands of Bods that were also removed. If you had vendors at these houses, well, don't you think you should have picked a better spot than at a very well known scripter's house? C'mon, you had to have known.

I think its cool with changes, and more active devs on board.

But i really would like to see some new PvP system/content or new faction system.

Pvper's havent really got any new content since factions (champhuting is PvM tbh)

From what i have read... first the economy, then pvp... those seem to be the goals of our Devs.

I also like some of the things I am seeing. I like the communication that is happening, it seems more than it ever has before. I like the cheaters houses levelled, items deleted, and accounts banned. But honestly it isn't enough yet.

We've been putting up with cheaters, pvp'ing, warping around the game at ungodly speeds since the game was first created. That's ten years, and it is still happening. We've been putting up with scripters ruining the economy and making game play in general completely unfair for those that don't since the game was first created. That's ten years, and it is still happening. We've been putting up with double casting, insta-casting, lightning fast casting while being protected, exploits breaking the cool down time between drinking pots for years now, and it is still happening. In game gm support has been horrendous ever since the counsellor program ended, and that was over eight years ago now.

I'm encouraged with what I have seen, but there are still a ton of very serious issues that need to be dealt with that haven't been. I don't like the focus on always catching the "big fish" and the resulting splashy pr, when things like Punk Buster, which would have done far more to clean up the game than these big events, weren't implemented because the lawyers couldn't hammer out an agreement.

So yes, I'm cautiously optimistic as a result of what I have seen recently, but I am far from being flat out impressed.

I was quite optomistic when the scripters houses burnt down and the crafting changes were made. However, I wet back to fel and found that speedhacking and pvp scripts are still rampant. Further more I have seen interviews with "great PVPr's" on stratics and strongly believe that some of those same players are speed hacking at the very least. I fought one said player who was able to cast FS while running. How on earth does one pull that off?

It seems that the cheaters in pvp are not being curtailed and to top it off being rewarded for cheating by being interviewed on the premise of being great PVPr's. on Stratics.

Further more when i page on cheaters the response is go to some website and log a complaint.... Why? they are right there cheating when I page. SEND A GM! investigate in the field. Does not take a rocket scientist to tell if some one is speeding or running a script. The lack of response or half a#$ responce by GM's just shows how little EA cares about the legitimate UO player base.

Simple.

They are taking UO back.
First exploiters.
Continued progress of KR.
Stygain Abyss will becoming.

In the mean time. Events. Trade in coming for rubble, brock, and ophidian stuff.

They are addressing insurance and all the BS arti stuff.

The are action oriented this year and I am betting on a big change in the UO landscape.

I applaud it.

Finally. A team with vision and power to make the vision come true.

So, we will see are concerns be addressed.

Thanks

I am bored very bored other than that? ... That to me would be the best idea for brining new life back into a boring game.

This has to be said. If you are bored, it's your own damned fault. If you don't like the game, go do something else and stop whining. There was an 80's song that had the line, "We were not being bored, because we were not being boring."

UO is a sandbox, there is probably more to do in that sandbox than you can do in a lifetime, and an infinite amount to do if you use your imagination. It isn't the sandbox's fault if you have no imagination, or are too lazy to use it.
