Yeah, gates are buggy. Try some other locations. For instance, I cannot gate from the new lands to Krystal's house in Luna, but I can gate to Stonehaven and Umbra just fine.

I can gate to East Brit/Cove land but not to Skara.
A house teleporter in my castle at the Swamp and one on my Skare castle fix the problem for me.

You could mark a rune near a public crystal port and then you can jump to Luna without using a gate more.
