Hello everyone

like I said in the title, I just got back to the game after 6 years. Im kind of lost on everything that is news. I mainly miss this game pvp and I need to catch up.
My character is currently 7x GM, Magery, eval int, med, resist, wrestling, healing
and focus

What change should I do in my stats to be competitive now ? Iv heard of Parry mage? What 125 scroll should I buy and what should I decrease? I dont know anything about necromancy or spellweaving

Thats for the stats, Its the first thing I need to know if I want to start playing. Any other tips on items I should get or anything?

I need the help Im lost :p thanks in advance!

Parry mage is good against dexers, but likely you'd drop pretty quick against any other mage (more so because you've been away so long).

When I first came back, I just played a standard wrestle scribe mage until I got the hang out if again. With the parry mage, a large problem is going to be how to manage your stats. You're likely going to have to rely on agility and strength potions to max out your hp/mana while still having the necessary 80 dex for parry to function at 100%, which can be a pain if you're just starting out again and might end up dying a lot.

On the other hand, if you're really that out of it, you might not learn much on a pure mage regardless since you'll just die a lot. I would still recommend starting a pure wrestle mage and find someone on your shard who can teach you a few tricks and newer fighting styles/combos/etc. Then it's really just practice, practice, practice.

That being said, parry mage would not be a bad choice either.

Change your template a bit and you should be ok. You will need to upgrade your skills to 115 minimum for pvp however.

Magery-120
Eval-120
Med-120
Resist-120
Wrestle-120
Inscribe-100
Focus-20

You'l need some armor with all 60 resist or better, (70 is max but curse spell puts you back to 60 but not below) 100 LRC (lower reagent cost, so you don't have to carry regs) 40 LMC, (lower mana cost, cast spells for less mana) 2 faster casting, 6 faster cast recovery, and 45 DCI (defense chance increase) to help against dexxers.

Okay. So far starters, if you like focus as a skill, I would stone it off. Between meditation and even having mana regen (a ton of it) you don't need focus.

Your main problem will be if you don't have funds. If you do then easy enough. Parry mage you will want rune carapace as your starter piece. Necro mage while good and one of the more versatile classes, is VERY offensive. There is really no defense to speak of with that template.

So you will have to decide:

1. Offensive
2. Defensive
3. Or running a balanced-type template

In terms of you yourself, you will need a 25 stat scroll to round out at 255.
After that you will need in this order for a parry mage:

1. Parry
2. Eval
3. Magery
4. Resist

In the above order is what you will need in terms of 120 scrolls. Parry and Resist is really no exception. You will have to classify it on if you value being defensive or more offensive in terms of prioritizing your scrolls.

That said, for a parry mage setup I would start with the 120 parry. Any good dexxer you won't have a chance against if you don't have 120 parry. 120 resist will help you against mages and I highly recommend it. People say 115 resist or items is okay but 115 is enough you can get paralyzed for half a second. Is enough 2 mages can rock you.

Magery and Eval you can get BY with 115...I highly recommend 120 Eval in terms of choosing that or magery first as a toss up between 120.

Necro mage I can't talk enough about it as I have only dabbled using that template...it is not a preference of mine.

Spellweaving I don't recommend it at all for a PvP character. Some people might recommend it but a real veteran will just outlast you as far as waiting on the timers of the spells and then dispatch you.

Most of the spells have LONG cast times and even LONGER recovery times. You can much go with the template GFY has down. I recommend that one as well. You can just setup your mana macros and disarm/paralyze macros and start going to town on people.

Those that use items will regret seeing you.
