Jumping back into UO and poling around on Siege. Or trying to at least.

Well it's been a long and frustrating journey getting my account in order and merged with everything. You'd think they would streamline this you know.
Snagged some game time codes from EA.
"It could take up to 24 hours to process your order" Took em 48.
Then had to poke around because I thought everything was said and done on merging accounts but got that figured out.
Apply codes and account status is active but keep getting verification messages and can't log in.
I hope to see you guys and have some fun on here sometime in the near future.

Played here before many many moons ago.
Started UO at around 2000. The whole idea of an open game like this got me interested. I discovered Siege about 2 weeks in. Ran around with a bunch of dudes in a guild called Rat ran by some guy named Dak. I remember that specifically.
Ran around until AOS. Took a hefty break to deal with RL stuff.
Came back around for a few months during SE. Had time split up between UO, GW1, FF, Tabletop Warhammer 40k and D&D.
Came back and messed around during ML a bit. Time was split between UO, WoW and then Age of Conan with DDO on top of that. Didn't get a whole lot done anywhere.
Dropped WoW around Cata. Messed around on Stygian Abyss. I still have a Gargoyle character I think. Want to make the switch back to human though. I dont't remember if I have starting funds or anything. I know I ended up giving a bunch of gold, potion kegs and regs to a guy before I quit. That's a non issue though. Starting from 0 is pretty fun. Not asking for handouts. I have 2 red soulstones here for sure and maybe 3. I was grinding out RoT with enhancing. So I've got that going for me.
Got to looking through UO news and saw the newer stuff added via mastery. Then decided I'd hop in and see how the game's doing these days. Dropped MMOs period and I'll be here full time. For a few months anyways.

There's a little info I need if anyone can help out.
Locations of some stocked scribe shops. Pretty much for gate scrolls in bulk.
Also about red soul stones. I saw I could buy greens via the shop. Also saw on a patch note that the spring cleaning vendor carries them as well. I was wondering if that was the case here.
What's the max tailoring here to make exceptional leather armors? I think I remember the difficulty was lowered here for that. Does it also go for enhancing leathers or would I be better off just bumping it to 120?
I know about the arms lore bonus.

Could it be your firewall that block?
Run your UO start file as Administrator.

Why would you use a lot of gate scrolls? you can imbue upto 15 magery on jewelry now and get a spellbook with upto 15 magery, so you don't need much base magery to be able to gate. I have 60 base magery but believe you would do fine with 40.

When you get in game, join general chat and all you need to do, when you have a question is to ask and someone will try to help.

take tailoring all the way to 120.
soulstones can be aquired by either vet reward picks (red stones) or through the ingame store (green or blue stones for which you need to purchase sovereigns from Origin first...). Also there are people selling soulstone tokens for gold. The going rate is 5 mil.

Haha yeah you were right. Went ahead and started over as a human. As soon as I dropped some gold into my bankbox it vanished. So I guess I gotta figure out the new bank system thing. It kinda urked me a bit because you don't have to physically carry gold anymore to buy stuff. I figured that out making a trip to buy a horse. I'm guessing thieves really have nothing to do now.
And that was my train of thought with using jewels and a spelbook to gate back and forward. I was just thinking a scroll would make it infinitely easier cause it bumps the spells down in difficulty.
I got it all working fine now. It wasn't anything blocking it though. I just had to change my actual game password. I'm guessing they did that as some sort of security measure or something because I remembered my old one.
Unfortunately my imbuing isn't high enough to do that. Found the stone and it had 56.1 on it lol. So gotta work on that.

Thank you. I'm excited to noob it up again. I haven't seen stats this low in ages. Pretty much have to start from square 1 minus necro and spirit speak. Had enough funds to place a small house as well.

Welcome back, the gold/banking now works hybrid number/physical gold system, as in your gold is in physical piles to collect it, and you cannot make checks anymore. once put in the bank it is a number. you can still withdraw piles of gold though. as far as the tailoring, i will say take all your skills to 120 or (GM as the case may be) since you have soulstones, there is no need to try to balance your temp out like that. if you are going to craft, throw those skills on. if you are going to fight, pick a template and throw those on. let me know if you want a starter suit or any help at all. I love doing the start from scratch as well, but a basic lrc/fighter suit is always a good thing.

If your house is near water and you have a boat you can gate to that boat with out having magery.

And the 2 crystal portals normal and corrupt together with the new Eodon crystal will get you anywhere else so magery is not a must now.

I have a house on New Magincia with all kinds of items open to the public for everyones use. Portal, corrupted portal, Portal to Eodon, Davies Locker, Comm deed box, all the crafting machines, seed box, rune library...Located on east side right at the focus circle.

There is an in game vendor search from the context menu of your character. "gate" should find all of the gate scroll vendors. It searches all of the vendors on the shard and provides a map of the vendor location, you still have to physically go there.

The in game search has a few limitations, like not being able to search items in a container that is being sold (e.g. if a container has 20 Powder of Fort searching for PoF will return no results). There are also limitations where the search has to be exact, no fancy auto detection or completion.

All in all the in game search is great for Siege as most of the web based ones only search luna and non siege shards.
