[Lumberjacking] It's impossible isn't it?

Hundreds and hundreds of trees. Thousands upon thounds of Regular, Oak, Ash, and yew logs..... no heart, blood, or frost logs.

What gives? Is it really this rare? I am using a Mel's Hatchet at 95 to get to 100, is that the problem? Or am I just unlucky?

well... i usually go about 5 points or so before i actually get the wood i am able to get...same with mining... i miss the old days...

I feel that the new system caters even more towards scripters. I don't have the time to lumberjack all day to get 100 frostwood, while a scripter can run the script almost all day lol. The old way was bad too though in different ways, they should make the rare woods a little less rare and add an item that allows you to bump up the wood type, like a prospecters tool.

Imagine the joy I felt one day when the tree closest to my house sign suddenly was bloodwood - and stayed that way for over 3 months....

Granted, I only got 60-120 bloodwood a trip, but it added up.

That long!! I thought they changed after everytime the tree is used up???

It's a chance to change every time the resource square is logged/mined. Even if you fail the first swing and don't try again.

I told my friend to dig up some stats he saved from some lumberjacking thing he did. If he finds them I will post them.

I calculated the amount of frost you get today it is around 1 frost for every 150 normal wood.

in other words if you collect 1,000,000 normal boards you should get a little more then 6600 frost.

Frost is truly a rare now.

I had a similar problem when using Mels hatchet. I hit 95 and tried to use it to get the other woods. While using it I couldnt get anything better than Ash. I finally said the hell with it, bought SoTs to 100, tried to use it again, same results, drop mel's hatchet and started getting the the top woods. Have even found trees that consistently give the same type when I return to them. Hope this helps.

I have started getting the top woods with 95 + mel's hatchet. Still an insanely small amount compared to the rest.
