Items for sale!

Man do I ever get tired of the term "make me an offer". In every other aspect of life people set a price for an item they wish to sell. Not in UO everyone seems to think that we the prospective buyer should know what it is you want to sell an item for. If the price we offer isn't what you want you don't even have the decensy to respond with an "I would like this much" counter offer instaed you just ignore us. So come on sellers of UO goods stop being so rude and tell us how much you want for your goods and let us the prospective buyer decide if we want to pay it. Do your homework find out the going rate and tell us what it will cost to do business. Untill then hopefully the buyers will start to ignor the sellers who don't even have a clue as to what they want to sell their goods for.

I totally see your point and have felt the same frustration at times. I think there are two distinct camps for this one. Those that legitimately do not know the value of an item and just want to unload it. The first person to come along and offer 2gp (read reasonable offer) will win the sale. The other camp are those who are really looking for that misinformed, unaware, or simply filthy rich customer to offer way more than the going value. When you make a legitimate offer you are signaling you are not the "customer" they are looking for.

I feel for the legitimate seller willing to take any reasonable offer and I hold no love for the sellers motivated purely by greed.

Those "make me an offer" typically dont want to sell it. And hope to find a rich characture that just says 20 million.

I dont even talk to them.

Just as easy to spam "cloak. Make me an offer" as it is "Cloak. 20 million or offer."

Whats worse is when you get a guy saying high bid is 12 million. Now your at ebay.

its because people think they can get more gold if you make them an offer, everyone thinks they are smart business people when in fact this becomes the result.

yeah ive been guilty of "make me an offer" . but i dont laugh at them unless they make a dumb offer. the other side of the coin is when you do have a price and everyone wants to lowball and argue with you on its value, just for the point of a resale.
