Item Propertie deeds

Simple idea.

Allow imbuers to craft deeds with any of the properties that one can add to a weapon or piece of armor.

Or make them a special drop on some monster(s).

Or a spring cleanup reward :D

I don't see this as being feasible with the way that Imbuing scales difficulty based on the power level of the mod and the number of mods present on the item. Do you put that on the crafter (giving the user the 100% success) or the user (who would be really upset if the deed DOESN'T have 100% success and spends a crapload of gold on a deed that fails and is lost)?

Simple in theory, not so much in practice.

It should be like crafting anything else . Either the imbuer fails or suceeds at crafting it depending on the % of chances he has. The user takes the deed, runs up to the soul forge in Royal city for example , double clicks & targets item...

Kind of like we use repair deeds now ?

The thing is that the difficulty changes depending on the situation of the item.

Imbuing the first property even at 100% intensity on an item with NO properites is a non-issue, the success chance is over 100%.

However, that very same imbue on an item that already has 4 other mods present, the chance drops to 10% and less (usually MUCH less the closer you get to the max allowable intensity).

So how do you take that into account? If the user has to hand over the item to have the deed made, then why not just get the imbue put on it in the first place?

I SERIOUSLY doubt they would allow the no-mods success rate be standard.

I dont know if this is gonna give the devs some really bad ideas since they already have similar item at work (focusing gem).

All they have to do is make other mods available and make them take up intensity and a mod slot.

Hmm here's the evil ideas... for the monster drop/spring cleaning rewards...
Hit Splintering Weapon deed...
Hit Curse deed...
Hit Drain effect deed...
Battle Lust deed...
and so on...

ouch~~~

Maybe item ID could be usefull again :)

Why not just find a trustworthy imbuer and actually interact with another player. If your the imbuer why not actually seek out players looking for an imbuer and actually interact with another player. At one time interacting with other players in such a manner was the norm in UO. Crafting went from actually dealing with players to filling out repetetive deeds. BODs, repair deeds etc.

Have the deeds as new / added BOD rewards covering all mods. If the success chance is not 100% the deed wont work. Could even have high end deeds in the agi runic higher or barbed runic that are above cap. 25-30% LRC, 35 resist, 3 mana regn, 130 luck, and 60% lightning.
