Ran my bard/mage down to do the new 'Gathering Proof' quest, as I've been wanting an actual reason to fight these new pesky gargoyles in the Abyss...and to try out my gargoyle slayer Scrappers book that's been lying around...

It did nothing for damage. Neither did my regular demon slayer book. Damage was the same as any ordinary book. No bonus whatsoever.

Also noticed a demon slayer nor gargoyle slayer instrument didn't help reduce peace and provo failures. Are these guys really 160 barding?

Or more likely the demon/gargoyle bonus isn't been applied, just like the spellbook.

The worst part, is their summons cant be dispelled. Their mysticism summons.

And of top of all of that, they seem to bypass the Protection spell somehow.

I hardly fizzled before but now, when the Outcast hit me, my spells fizzle even though I have Protection on..... And that is for only a low circle hiding spell.......

these magic users are not mages either - and give less loot than their weaker undead counterparts
Next it'll be Fire Dragons that aren't greater dragons, nor fire related

Actually that could be, I went back and saw that they cast Purge Magic a lot so it would well be...

By the way, what is the deal with the Rousers ??

I went with a Greater Dragon and the very first Rouser pulled up a Void. unfortunately, the poor Greater Dragon, even if fully trained, was totally unable to kill the void. Besides the Void toughness, it also cost a colossus and a Revenant and there was nothing that could keep the GD alive....

Went back with a Mystic and have so far killed like 15 Rousers and not 1 Void popped up...

What gives ??

The gargoyle separatists have been non-vulnerable to slayer weapons since they appeared.

Personally I think they should have been vulnerable to slayers, but fictionally I can see a good reason they weren't: They are more analogous to gargoyles as played by players than they are monsters in the traditional sense.

Changing them to slayer-vulnerable could be justified fictionally as well should the team decide to do it. As the Bane Chosen started as humans (not slayer vulnerable) then quickly left their humanity behind in the service of Virtuebane (thus becoming Reponds), the separatists could become more evil and eventually become something more akin to monsters than people...Hence become slayer vulnerable.

Of course, then the cries of "UO is on easy mode" would begin.

Personally I think this has been fun.

Here I got all excited coming back and can't kill one alone Yes I know the world can't be solo'ed but I will spend all day killing one monster if I have to. I can't even get it to spawn.

i hate those things, nice job putting 20 of them in one spot.

its a new way for someone to try to kill me in the abyss.. im working a spawn and someone comes running through with 10 or so in tow.. then invis right in front of me.
