I was able to get enough cloth of a certain color I was wanting,so I could make a robe. I made one and it came out as death-robe grey in color. For all of you that have spent time collecting the cloth to make a nice looking robe or whatever. Save your cloth until later. It may turn grey when you craft the clothing.

Might want to check your "use material color" box. Ive made like 40 articles of clothing out of it, all came out the right color.

Get on your Tailor and go Trick or Treating.... Take off all your armor and clothes and start making clothes, Shirt, Ninja Skirt, Ninja Pants, Fur Boots, Robe, Cloak and whatever else you can get on...... remember what you made.....

Get a macro set up to use your trusty scissors.

Go out Trick or Treating somewhere with loads of NPC's .... wait for the little buggers to "Trick" you and change you a nifty color.

Quick grab those scissors and cut up all your clothes! Better be quick the change don't last long!

Ta'Da! Now you have a spiffy new color of cloth.

Now rinse and repeat.....

how do you macro to cut up all your clothes?
or do you mean just make a macro to un-equip everything?

and then manually use scissors macro on each item real quick.

or is there some way to automate the whole thing?

how do you trick or treat anyway, just target a npc and say trick or treat?

You need to bind your scissors to a key - last object if you want.

Then when you change colours, you just use the scissors on the clothes on the paperdoll. No need to take them into your pack.

Right what Korik said and yes you just walk up to an NPC and say "Trick or Treat".....

And I made a macro for that too.

But yes I bound my scissors to a key so I just hit my scissors and cut, hit cut, hit cut....... just as fast as you can because that color don't last long.

Another suggestion, perhaps a little late in the game, is if you use the Classic Client and UOA, set yourself an "undress" hotkey, wear only the clothes you want to cut, and then set your undress bag as a recycle bag (don't remember their exact name, but the ones that let you recycle stuff with a right click and menu select). When you change, hit your hotkey, and then quickly right click and select "Select All" (top menu choice) and it cuts it all for you.

For me, I found the sweetspot was three items, and on my gargish crafter using a regular Robe, Cloth Wing Armor, and Cloth Chest, I was pulling 20 cloth per trick or treat. Not sure how other methods worked for others, but that worked for me.

I use cloth ninja hood and cloth ninja tunic, Hakama-****a, Hakama, Full apron, and Cloak.

Gets me 39 cloth per go, if I hit them all which I usually can.

Up until I got bored, I was running robe/fancy-shirt/skirt/cloak/full-apron.
I was about at my limit for being able to snip it all in time.

I was doing the robe, cloak, fur boots, Hakama skirt thing, and the hakama pants and that was as many clicks as I could get away with... in the EC and i was netting about 37 cloth I think.
