[Necromancy] Is there a more efficient way to get 2 Skeletal Dragons ?

Other then the Rats' Cave, is there any other "better" way yo get a couple of Skeletal Dragons for a Necromancer ?

The reason for that, is that Ilshenar is a no recall/Gate area so, it takes time to get there.

Unfortunately, once the 1st Skeletal Dragon is taken, in order to have another one to spawn it is necessary to leave the subserver (i.e. take the Gate out), park the 1st Skeletal Dragon somewhere and go back to the Rats' Cave to get the 2nd.

Too bad, that often one gets the surprise that a Paragon one has spawned so, forget about that 2nd Skeletal Dragon OR, when going back to the 1st one, that it has vanished into ti air....

Bottom line is, it looks a royal pain to get a pair of Skeletal Dragons....

Is there a better way to get them ?

Thanks !

Buy them? Just listing easier options but I don't know what skelly market is like much less exist? So if not pay some one to do it for you that's what I do when I think something is annoying or can trade. If its not worth it for you to pay some one then I would think its better to go about your way. I dont know anything about it though so just a meaningful post on nothingness. Hope you get better answer.

I was more hoping about "other" places that spawn 2 of them at least OR, when a second one would spawn again right there after the Necromancer has taken the 1st.... without the need to exit the sub-server, park it some where else and go back to get the other one..... and, also, somewhere else that they spawn that is not Ilshenar where one goes through all that ordeal only to go back and find out that a Paragon has spawned....

These things go away at death so, all that trouble to get them becomes just a waste of time once they die.... now, if that time invested to get them is short, then it makes sense using them but, if it instead it gets a pain and time consuming to get them, why bother at all when they get lost for good at their death ?

That is why I am trying to find out whether there is another way, less time consuming to get them.

u could just go grab an ancient lich from khaldun and be like screw it all
I thought that a Skeleton Dragon, well, a pair of them, would be the best option for a Necromancer to control....

An Ancient Lich would top 2 Skeleton Dragons ?

i dont remember the control slot usage on them but i seem to remember u could have 2..... the problem being that they are located very deep in khaldun and sometimes they are too strong to be tamed so u may have to kill a couple to get one u can tame. If a ancient lich is better then a skeleton dragon i dont know testing would be needed im guessing but they do cast healing on themselves

How does one know that the "current" Ancient Lich cannot be Controlled by the "Control Undead" Mastery ?

Does one get a specific message saying that ?

The reason that I am asking, is that the Control Undead Mastery is not 100% Guaranteed like 1 cast = 1 success but, often, it is necessary several attempts on the same one Creature before it can get controlled....

But if a given Ancient Lich is just "out of reach", unless one gets a specific message saying that, one could try over and over and over, endlessly without ever succeeding "in the hop" to, at some point, be able to Control it, while instead, that cannot be done because that particular Ancient Lich spawned to be out of reach.....

As in regards to the Skeletal Dragons, I was told that there is a small room were 2+ Skeletal Dragons spawn at once, does anyone know where this is ?

when we did the "controlling" its wasnt me doing the controlling i was helping the necro do it by loring the lich out and helping to heal the necro during the attempts. we got one then we attempt to get a second but he said something along the lines of "the lich was too powerful try another". we killed off that one and try another and got the same message so we then left to test out the lich. It seemed pretty powerful but as far as specifics as to what the messages he got were i cant say because i didnt see them.

you can get another skeleton dragon by ringing the bell in doom. as you can mark a rune there, it is an easy in and esay out.

@Nero

Thanks, but I tried that and, to my findings, the Skeletal Dragon down in Doom is "tied" to where it spawns.... as the Necromancer tries to move it too far away from the bell, it bounces back to it.... it cannot even get to the next Doom room, imagine that.... the Developers even put a VERY short leash on it....

I know, it makes no sense, especially since Skeletal Dragons, contrary to many other Creatures, have only 1 place where they spawn (other then Doom), that I know of, not sure what the Developers where thinking about, when they decided to make the Doom Skeletal Dragon be tied to the Bell area and always bounce back to it.... especially since there is a Necromancy Mastery, the Control Undead, which players might have wanted to use on it...

It seems there in no solution, as of now, to my trying to get to control 2 Skeletal Dragons....

to be fair the doom bell skeletal dragon was in the game for awhile before they added masteries to the game its completely possible the developers forgot about that one all together. there is another skeleton dragon spawn but its in the middle of a dungeon in ish and its harder to get to and out of with them. the ratman mine is alot easier for sure

Are you by any chance referring to the Ankh Dungeon ?

If so, at least according to UOGuide at Ankh Dungeon - UOGuide, the Ultima Online Encyclopedia , no Skeletal Dragon spawns there (it is not in the list of what spawns there...).

Did you actually see Skeletal Dragons spawn there ? Or is it some other place in Ilshenar ?

EDIT. I found some time to go check the Ankh Dungeon (also referred to as Ilshen's Tomb), checked all rooms and places and could see no Skeletal Dragon there... Where is this other place in Ilshenar that has Skeletal Dragons spawn in it ?
