Is there a best durability to repair your items at?

I'm sure I read somewhere about the longer you wait to repair your items, the higher the chance you'll damage it, when is generally the best time to repair? 50% of max durability for example?

For me, anywhere over 10 durability remaining seems to work equally well. (Legendary or gm in everything) I lose one point of max durability even on 254/255 as often as 11/255, subjectively.

I'm sure someone else will have a more scientific answer, but with UO's old code, who knows?
