Is the taming guide up to date?

My wife is frustrated because she bought a runebook that suggests one thing, UOGuide suggests another, and this forum suggests a 3rd when it comes to what animals to tame at what skill rate. She is at 68 and irate!

I've been taking my 6th Chessy tamer up using my guide I posted up there. I've done 4 tamers by that method. I was never able to get very good gains using the Stratics taming guide.

However, 68 SUCKS for skill gains. I put jewels on and tamed higher stuff to get the best gains. I've noticed I often get the best gains with jewelry on and taming tougher stuff. And mixing up what I'm taming seems to help, too.

I have a low attention span for taming and hunting. I rarely spend more than half an hour doing any one thing.

Yup! I've used his guide for 2 tamers. I've seen similar ones but his has a good list of not just one but more than one creature to tame if you get bored with just one.

Using jewels also helped my gains when i was stuck for a few days straight.

I've always "felt" that my Tamer gained more slowly when using jewelry. You know, the higher the skill the slower the gain.
