Is the EC Profile Manager my only option?

I seem to always be logging on in UO with a new character.
Often not new to the game, but new to the PC that I'm playing on at any moment.

I have a preferred set-up for my desktop layout real-estate wise,
and some favorite common macros, skillgrp, and uo.cfg settings.

These files are stored in a relative client/account/shard/character path.

For the classic client, I keep a master copy of these files:
Default.mac
desktop.new
desktop.nwb
desktop.uos
Macros.txt
macros2d.txt
skillgrp.mul
Uo.cfg

After every UO patch, I place my copies of those files into the UO CC install directory.
When I do his, any new CC logon instantly has my all favorite settings ready to go.
Perfect for me for Test Center, a different PC, a new character, a different shard.

I know most of this is old news to y'all and thus far is not, yet, EC related,
but it helps to clarify what I am trying to seek an answer for -
and it also may help someone else searching for similar answers as well.

My actual question is =

Can I do similar for the EC, as I do for the CC outlined above, with an EC file set?
What file(s) do I look to keep a master copy of for the EC?
At a minimum I'd really like to do this for macros in the EC.

Is the EC Profile Manager my only option?
I'm just not fond of running a separate program to accomplish what seems like a text file copy in simplest form.
It appears that I'd have to create the character (or know name/shard first) before running the EC profile Manager,
and may not be able to just hit the ground running so to speak with a new character ...

I see each EC client character gets a single charname xml file with some settings.
Can I copy one of these profiles, and place it somewhere particular,
so that this new master preference file can propagate to new EC logons?

I've been trying to understand the Custom_UI_Documentation, but alas - it's not clear to me.
Perhaps I'm too ingrained in the CC to understand the EC.

Storms linked EC mod instructional videos, referenced in sticky thread at the top of the forum,
are shwoing as youtube private.

EC user guide links in threads stickied at top of page are returning page not found errors.

I know I'm late to the party, but I WANT COOKIES!
is all of that info now out of date anyways with the new UI?

Hopefully this make sense and someone can provide me some simple guidance towards accomplishing this in the EC,
with as relative ease and understanding as I do on the CC. I just cant get my head around this.

Thanks for any replies!
