[Inscription] Is Lichform worth it?

I've returned to UO after a one and a half year break. Have been whipping a scribe-mage-fisherman into place, but discovered to my surprise that you no longer can use items/jewelry to put on necroforms, when you take of the jewelry you cant maintain the form...that was a shock and i have to rethink the template...

So i either bounce up necro to 70 (and have to get rid of tinkering which would be very inconvenient) or i scribe without Lichform.

I got 120 Med/120 Focus and a total of 24 Mana Regen on my suit... how much mana regen would lich form actually add? Is lich form worth putting 70 necro in a already squeased template. (Skillcap is 720: 115 Magery, 115 Eval int, 100 Inscription, 100 Fisherman, 80 Tinkering...for those adding this 20 focus/20 magery skillpoint comes from ring)

I have tried to find more specifics on the necro item nerf (which i belive was aimed at sampires/vampiric embrace) but i can only find rant posts pro et contra, not the factual information about the change (ive read at least 10-20 publishes and FOF without finding any information on uo.com)

Well if ya can use the items to get into lich form and keep them on while scribing that wouldnt be too hard. Say use a ossimorion grimore and a +30 jewlery set and a bloodwood spirit for a total if 45 points then all you need is 25 real skill (or droping the <MR on your sleeves) midnight bracers for a total of 5 real skill needed. Not bad. See you wont lose form so long as your skill shows 70 regardless of if its real or jewled up. Just keep them on while you scribe.

As for lich form adding MR it realy only works good in a non med state. Like if you activly med I dont notice a difference lich or not but the passive mana regen is awesome. Perfect for a scribe IYAM

Thank you for good input, 5%Luck!

I've got most of the Necro-items. But substituting My Book 25% Exc/24% Inscription is not an option. Also the Crystalline Ring stays on :)

But dropping the boomstick, sleeves and bracelet would loose just 5 MR, in exchange for 45 Necro skillpoints (Ossian 10, Midnite bracer 20, bracelet 15) so i would only need 25 real skill points.

I then still have 19 MR on the rest of the equipment and Lichfrom, which should be better than 24 MR without Lich....

Then i also could keep 65 Tinkering which make me able to craft pens while i scribe... sounds like a nice deal :D

Remember that you can make spellbooks instead of the higher levels scrolls. Spellbooks take no mana to make and you get a chance at making a superslayer spellbook. You might go thru more scrolls but this is offset by not using anymore regs.

I have GM'd 3 Scribe mages by swapping over to spellbooks as soon as I can make em, my original Scribe I did thru scrolls will never go that route again.
