(Question) Is it still a subscription game

I would love to but I'm lucky if I get 2 to 4 hours a week to play so I play a free game. Though it has a lot of short comings...no non-consentual pvp. All pvp is done is designated arenas, all stuff is either bind of equip or bind on pick up so no loots for you and it goes on but for being able to play so little. I have decent gear on to at least hold my own in pvp and as hard as is it may seem to believe. I now pvp WAY more than Grot does. If I had my way I would pvp all the time

I refuse to pay a subscription for a game that is a decade behind other games.

Been playing GW2 (Great arena and WvW PvP), Blade & Soul (Incredible open world and arena and dungeon PvP), Marvel Heroes (Awful PvP but getting better).

Many many more games out there with more Mechanics than those developed back in 1997. And exploited ever since. The exceptions are the "other" shards where it feels like you logged in era 2003

I'll happily pay for that 10+ years of game content, it's well worth it. Those other games don't have that.
