I've refrained from posting on this again for a couple of days to gather my thoughts.
Someone posted something to the effect that people who don't interact leave.... which in and of itself is a fair statement. Except-
You look at who interacted with us and how long they were around after they started interacting. None were around really for that long. And the people that are still left are the ones that don't communicate.
No one on the current team interacts with us on a consistent basis. Even the supposed community people- but you look at the other games they support and they are right there. It is down right insulting to see how the other games are supported.
Mesanna, who you would have to search long and hard to find a bigger supporter of her than I am, doesn't provide consistent communication. And her secret thing drives me up the walls. Although, her hints recently were nice. That is something that should be a regular thing.
And Jeff, like the people before him, comes in like a storm and then dies off. You can almost hear the crickets in the silence.
I also do not care for this- people who know know and that is enough type attitude. Having been on both sides of the fence as a player and in upper management in a game company, it's a load of bull crap. There are both good and bad things. The only thing that secrets lend to are conspiracy theories (which all too often prove out to be true) and falsehoods. Jeff claims to be about transparency, which I see no evidence of. Quite the contrary. Though, he appears to be well versed in the art of using the latest corporate catch phrases.
I started this thread because of my growing frustration at the lack of communication/interaction of the UO/EA/Mythic/BioWare/whatever they are now team. And how the members that actually communicate go. Didn't Jeff post something about requiring or making it so that there was weekly communication or some such? I think I posted something to the effect I'll believe it when I see it (or like ask me in 3 months and we'll see).... just like every time before. Someone comes in, makes promises they don't keep.
And in the end, that is what frustrates me the most. (and for those that need it spelled out- the lack of keeping the promise of open communication/interaction)
