is fishing random?

i've been playing toontown for about 2yrs. now.
and i've decided to catch a few "new species"
well,i've caught all of the bears except the grizzly.
3hours today
3hoursthe day before that
and 3 hours the day before that one.
yes i have the gold rod
and i even tried the goofyport district for hours,usually in walrus way...
what am i doing wrong?
oh yeah,why does it show i'm a "visitor" in my last post??
i am logged in...

Just stick with it. I fished for MONTHS before I caught some of them.

Visitor is just part of the title system.

You know, I've wondered that too. Like, do you have to catch certain new "record" fish before you will finally catch a new species, and if there is anything that triggers it, or if what order you catch the fish in is the same for everyone or like 2-3 groups catch the fish in certain orders.

No its random, the ultras are just very hard to catch. You cant spend like 30min. looking for it, it takes a loooong time.
