Is a lavaliere worth using?

I recently received one of these from doing slasher of the veils.

I was told to sell it for 90 million but if its a good piece for pvm I was thinking of just keeping it and using it.

Is there a good build to go around this necklace? My only requirement is to wear hat of the magi.

Personally I do not think it is worth using, but I also think several the SA arties have major trade-off issues:

animated legs vs fay legs & divine fury
Basilisk Hide Breastplate vs anything that isn't a bunch of regen
mangler vs an imbued broadsword
Demon Hunter's Standard vs imbued spear
The Impaler's Pick...........
Life Syphon...................
Blade of Battle..............

these have some nice features, but the overall not as good as other arties or just player crafted items. (generalizing)

oh and also consider some of them are rare, high gold drops that either break the bank or take days/weeks/months to get

its really more for pvp casters. the 10% defense frees up other dci slots to get your 75%. Kinetic eater is a nice little bonus too.

For a pvm caster tho i think there are far better choices.

70% dci is what you need.. 70 DCI - 25 from HLD = 45 DCI (cap)

lavaleire is for PVP. doubt you would need it on pvm.

gargs get crappy resists on their crafted necklaces (30 resist pts) so its well worth it for them to wear. i am going to try to get one on slownoma.

Lavalier without kinetic eater is 400% imbuing intensity.

So the question is, is kinetic eater worth losing an extra mod on your neck piece?

Or you could sell it for a complete suit which is as good or better.

Yeah I don't really need any items, the gold would just go onto my vendor until I find something worth buying which rarely happens.

I was just trying to see if the kinetic eater would be decent or worth using if I added the ranger's cloak of augmentation or whatever.

I got bored and played around with it and made a non faction pvm suit with:

100 LRC
40 LMC
17 MR
2/6 Casting
45 DCI (Actually 65 when mage weapon equipped)
27 Intelligence Bonus
25 Hit Point Increase
7 hit point regen
38+ SDI (All of my super slayer spellbooks have 5+ sdi with two being scrap's)
25 Kinetic Eater
with a few other random misc mod's

70/70/70/52/70

It's a very item intensive suit though. I wouldn't go out and buy the items just to make the suit thats for sure. That and poison is low.

My character is a human. Only gargoyle character I have is my Imbuer.

On TC I tested a combo of Eaters and max hpr. Only if you get a pause in combat where you are not getting hit will it give you burst HP back from the damage you took. Might be good for a hit and run ninja. Confidence is better though.

Who cares about the gargs resist with their necklaces?

Gargs have pretty darn good resist on just their armor slots, they really don't need the resist from their neck.

The argument was to use lavaliere instead of the normal garg necklaces since the necklaces have crappy resists.
