While gathering info on creatures in the Abyss this weekend, I decided to try taming an iron beetle. I lored the three in the spawn area and picked the one with the best stats. Noticed it's resisting spells skill was something like 130 or 140 (wrote down the exact number at home, will check later to confirm). I thought wow, that's pretty nice.
Anyway, after I beat it into submission and tamed it, I checked its skills and noticed that resisting spells had dropped to ~56. That was more than a 50% skill reduction and was wondering if that's normal. If I remember correctly, GDs' skills drop 28% upon taming so at the worst I was expecting this iron beetle's RS to be in the 90-95 range.
Just curious if anyone else who has tamed one of these guys noticed a similar, large drop in skills after taming.
Thanks!
p.s.: just realized I should have taken before and after screen shots. I'll try to do that next time I go down there.
Edit: looked at my spreadsheet and the beetle I tamed had 129.3 RS when wild. If it suffered a 28% skill loss as GDs do, I would expect it's post-tame RS to be ~93.0, but it is actually 58.3.
