I'm working on my inscription. I've GMed it before on other shards, but need a scribe on Atlantic. I moved it via Soul Stone from one character to David the Mad (see template below). David has better magery/med and the ability to use necro forms (lich particularly). I temporarily removed resisting spells. I'm currently at 94.2 inscription. I thought this would go fairly quickly making resurrection scrolls, but I played for an hour this morning and nada... not a single gain. I suspect this is just really bad luck, but I thought I'd ask for some recommendations. BTW, I am not skill maxed and inscription is set to gain.

1) Is there some sort of temporary lock on craftsman skill gain when you move it from character to character via Soul Stone?

2) I'm using an Inscription Bonus Talisman (18%) to increase my successful scroll output. Is this a good idea or should I go talisman-less?

3) What do you recommend I make to gain at this level? I cannot make spellbooks as that just sucks up gold and I need to get a little return from my work. Necro spells are certainly an option.

Thanks for your advice and Merry Christmas!

Yea, first of all remove talisman. You want as close to 50% chance of making as you possibly can.

Then...well, i dont know of any other option than making scrolls to gain slow or spellbooks for smooth, steady grandmastering.

I did spellbooks and then donated them to Library, atleast that gives some kind of trade-off.

hope it helped a bit atleast.

Buy mass scrolls and make spellbooks. Much faster, much more expensive, but you have the chance of getting a super slayer book in there.

I unequipped the talisman and problem solved. I gained over a point in an hour of constant scribing resurrection scrolls. I'll get to GM inscription in a day or two. Thanks for your help and reassurance.

When do you guys recommend I start using spellbooks to gain? I'm at 77 Inscription at the moment. I have enough scrolls to last me a while, but I'm more concerned with the time it will take. Are spellbooks the fastest option for me right now, or should I stick with Energy Bolt?

I usually swap over to spellbooks as soon as I can to try for superslayers but a good place to swap over is when you find your spending more time trying to regain mana that getting gains. making spellbooks takes no mana so you can continue cruising trying for gains whereas when trying to make higher levels scrolls you make 2-4 scrolls and need to meditate and then repeat, the gains will be coming so slow and the time spent making scrolls can become very monotonous. Its much faster to kill something for gold and go spellbooks
