initial spells

I have returned from about 5 years of no UO.
I am trying to get my inscription up.
I need at least one initial spell to be able to create any others.
Where can I get them from.
I am on the Oceana shard and none of the NPC's seem to have recall or gate spells.

Not all the mage NPCs carry the same scrolls. Some only carry 1st - 3rd circle, while there are rare ones that go up to 4th circle (recall). For higher circle spells you need to kill spell casting monsters or just buy a full spellbook from someone else.

I wish I could buy one, I can not find any place to buy one. None of the vendors in Luna even have anything in them. None of the vendors out and about have any either. I may have to switch shards and rebuild my character for it.

Hmmm, normally the mage shop in Luna {on the left as you are coming up the steps from the gate} has a few mage scrolls on them. Not sure why anyone would be buying them all up, strange. You may want to try the mage shop in Umbra tho too, not many folks go there.

Ahhh thought he was talking about individual gate and recall scrolls. oops. If that's the case just holler in gen chat, am sure someone can scrbe him a full book up pretty fast.
