I tend to stay on top of things, I guess because the dayjob is legal secretary. Since the Account Migration fiasco began, I have been reading all I could, etc.

I have had issues myself with the supposed account log-in and have a couple of open trouble tickets on the topic. At one point they sent me an email asking me to call, and I did. At that point, I was told that they were aware and working on things (which was the answer I expected at that point).

This morning, I got one of those 'no billing information' emails with a request to call, so I called again. I was told something that they are not communicating very well to us at all:

They have not finished the migration!

I told the rep (who was an Origin rep) that they had *not* communicated that small fact to the players, as far as I knew, and he was surprised. The impression they have given is that the migration part of it was finished and it was just the 'back-end' stuff that they were still working on. I told him that they really needed to communicate better with the players before they lose any more. The gentleman was quite surprised that we had not been told this and we then had a short conversation about the various disconnect points which have occurred due to poor communication from EA/Mythic.

He said that he was definitely going to follow up to see if some sort of better announcement could be made to the players. (And I am sure he will because it would make his job easier - I got the impression that whomever this was, he was not one of the regular 'call-center' folks. But then, they open at 7 am and I was the first call to get in this morning, according to him. So who knows who I was actually speaking to.)

I also told him that the Europeans were upset because of exchange rate glitches that would add to their monthly play cost and that it might be a breaking point for some of those players. He took notes.

I do not know if/how much any of this conversation this morning will help, but perhaps it will. Sometimes it is a case of being lucky and catching the right person and he did sound as though he might be that 'right person.' So we will see.

In the meantime, they have *not* finished the migration and we are still operating under the marching orders at the very beginning of this:
- if your account info doesn't show up, it's probably because it hasn't been migrated over yet;
- if you get a 'no billing info' email, then go ahead and start a trouble ticket on it, but otherwise don't panic because it does not mean anything (yet).

But a touble ticket is a good idea because it gives you a 'paper trail' should anything go wrong. (Yes, I do think like a legal secretary, eh eh.)

One last thing - I posted this here rather than in UHall for a reason - there are too many posts in UHall about the account stuff and they seem to be policing it closely atm (as in 'trying to keep all those posts in one of two threads'). If I posted this over there it would just be one of a gazillion other comments to someone's post started days ago. I wanted to make certain that this info would at least be seen by our Siege folks.

Thanks for posting, I will just not be concerned about it for now in that case. I got an e-mail about one acct being closed but I can still log into it so I am just going to wait it out for a while. As you know I have enough fish in my frying pan already.

Thank you!! I got a request through the support site yesterday asking for all my account names, linked and unlinked, so they could do some testing. No response on that yet and still can't link anything past the first nine accounts. (Tried again just a short while ago.)

I was told amost two weeks unofficially by an EA person they have to migrate about 2.5 million active and inactive accounts (presumably he meant just UO accounts), so I can see why they just might not yet be finished with the migration. More communication about what's going on would definitely be helpful!

They are moving our account infos from the old account management website to a new better secured account management website.

Something like that.

Do not worry right now. They are moving the account and billing stuff to a new computer system - but they have not gotten everything moved. If you get an email that says that your account is no longer active, it is most likely *not* correct and your house should not fall.

I have been checking my houses almost every day just to be sure and if you can, I would suggest you do the same. If you cannot check them, then I would still say do not worry about it. Even the account they told me was "discontinued due to lack of billing information" is fine - I can log in - and the house is fine.

You can be certain that if houses begin to decay, all the UO players will be calling them!

If you can still log into your accts. you might want to take the safer perhaps the sky might fall route, and bank up your older/oldest vet rewards at least...just in case any of this migration goes *south* for ya.

That is what I been doing, *just in case* no way to save everything anyhow cuz it won't all fit in the banks for any of us all,
but things like 2 pairs of my 12 yr. vet house teleporter tiles per shard, com. boxes, crystal portals when I only got maybe 1 or 2 per shard, well those few things, I am BANKIN them all up, NOW, just in case, and putting stuff in ONE house remaining till I DO migrate all accts. IF/when I try to do so and it works out successfully. I can always bring tele tiles back out IF I get my accts. past migration and next billing cycles unimpeeded.

Resources if lost CAN be regathered, regs too, Christmas items dime a dozen, poor parrots get tossed on the ground to decay, if accts. get shut down :( but still no big losses there, other than emotional loss of *pet birdies* decayin to death on our lawns,

but stuff like one's pairs of vet tiles, not so easily replaced if your acct. goes DOWN and ya didn't want it to and
ya left em on your porch as a public service, for everyone to get to use, would then be LOST ! GONE ! PERIOD ! from your acct.,
if your acct. may get shut down, yet, thru this mess. :(

My accts. are not due up for rebilling till Sept. and Oct. so *in theory* atm I should not have any worries YET, in theory.

But one of em will be ready to be rebilled early to mid Sept. The other 3 in late Sept. early Oct. to be rebilled. But I have not even TRIED this migration mess [yet]. So that is the one I am *hibernating* first, banking stuffs and THEN I will try acct. migration *situation.*

Call me gunshy or maybe the sky *might* fall mentality, but ima bankin up what I can that may be hardest to replace, while I STILL CAN log in.. on 4 accts. across two shards just in case.

EA UO may lose customers, if this migration does not function or work for EVERYONE prior to when their accts. are all due, to be rebilled up.

At any rate I been bankin up, emptying my all houses and cutting down on my houses accts. things as best as I can before I am DUE to be rebilled, or auto shut down thru some fubar of this migration situation.

I am never a chicken little saying the sky is fallin all the time,
but I also am not totally deluded either, cuz one day
the world may end and the sky MIGHT just fall down on us all too,
IDOCers may yet be having a field day, on all shards in a few weeks yet,
where maybe lotsa homes fall down yet, hope not but ..just in case.

If I can't get it/new migration set up all to work right for me properly, I may be one of those other 14 yr. old UO EA customers, that says
[this the straw that broke the camel's back], finally making customers' final decision, that opts not look back, nor come back, ever again,
to give them my money for any game they run,
if my accts. get messed up.

I liked the OLD system, for nearly 14 yrs. long they billed me automagically like on my cc.
I ignored them, they ignored me, it worked, I was able to keep playing,
& they kept getting paid with my money, :)
IE IT WORKED BEFORE on old system, as it was, for us BOTH.

So like the ol' Boy Scout Motto,

BE PREPARED while ya can do so !:thumbsup:

well...to go further now, just got an email a few minutes ago, and my account that was working now cannot log in to game anymore, the billing expired today. Take QZ's advice above, if your migration goes way south like mine did I'm SOOOO glad i cleared everything of importance from my houses and either held it on my characters or in the bank (soulstones, vet rewards, ships, parrots, etc). There is a LOT that's sitting in my houses decaying still now though, Such as my huge box of prepatch, 10hci/10dci shields, wish i could grab those but the only account that had access was my main account, so everything I hadn't changed the security on in my castle I haven't been able to touch since the migration started before I even knew they were going to do it. Luckily the box with all my house addons in my castle was set as co-owner, as well as my box of soulstones, or i'd be pretty pissed. I do have one ladder up and if the house decays it will decay, but all my others thankfully are in deed form in my pack, I wish also I could have grabbed my front porch decor just in case, I like my setup with the mailbox, public crystal portal, and ultima banner w/ vines.

I'm not sure which one is worse now though, this or the ML launch, as that was a huge mess for me too. (half my prodo characters are STILL to this day bugged, most cannot take quests, all my pets were deleted off my tamer, and still have random stat bugs and such). At least in that one though I could still log in and play.
