Incase You Are Curious... We Are Alive.

Me and Kemo are alive. We both live in Melbourne, FL where Tropical Storm Fay decided to try and drown us. I don't know if he suffured any damages to his home or anything, but I know he has been making it to work ok the past few days.


Its been insane. Flooding everywhere. Cars dead everywhere. 30+ inches of rain.

I hope Skylark and the rest of you in the greater Orlando area make it out ok.

I was thinking about you today Rumpy, and I'm glad to hear that you are still afloat. Melbourne has really received the worst of the flooding by far - you guys got nearly 6 months of rainfall in less than 48 hours over there. We've had between 4 and 6 inches here, so there has just been some minor flooding of streets in a few areas. We have had more issues with debris on the roads from the wind, and now that it has started to move west back across the state, it has been much worse than when the storm first came through on Tuesday. Hopefully it will break up soon. This is a bizarre one.

Hang in there...it's always the aftermath that's the worst, because then it's just ugly, tiring work without the distracting drama. You have my sympathy.

Here in Jacksonville we are still getting wind and some rain. Most of the hard stuff is coming down on the northern side. Where my daugter lives her street is flooded. She is higher than those on the Trout River but it is still in her driveway. Fay decided to stay and tour St Augustine for a bit before sloooowly moving off. But not fast enough for us here.
