Just wondering if there is any way to private message someone in game ? It's a small thing but its such a nice feature in allot of other on-line games. I use it all the time in Guild Wars.

nope, unless you both use the Chat option (2d).

if you are using KR and the person is on your "friends" list in chatform you can send out private messages.
