Imp quest is stupid. dont know what to do

It says i got to slay 1 arcane demon and i did and returned. Then it told me to kill 1 again and when i did it counted 2 to my first quest. dont know what im doing wrong here

I had the same problem. I had to resign the quest (not the chain) then accept the quest again in order to get the proper credit for the kill and complete the quest.

I think my problem came from having a timer that expired. I didn't find and kill an arcane demon fast enough. I got a message that said so.

However, when I quit then accepted it again, I got the scroll with no problems.

Whats the name if this NPC quest giver? He is in sanctuary right?

That seems to be an ongoing problem with the quest. You have to quit it and repeat it.
