I apologize in advance if this is beating a dead horse but. Imbuing is a completely new craft to me. (stayed in the ML world for maybe a little too long) What I need is some pieces to imbue to complete my archers suit and was curious about which type of exceptional leather should i make my legs and sleeves from. Imbuing with a little resist SI, and LMC, so? Horned? spined? Barbed? Obviously exceptional to get full imbuing power for the items. Do I need to make 10 of each to survive enhancement?

Well....

I did my suit out of Wood. Made woodland armour.

I made it with normal wood, and then imbued, and then enhanced.

Due to the frequency of failure, I made one piece at a time. Cause it would suck to be successful on the enhance only to find out I have 5 other pieces ready to try to enhance.

If you are new to imbueing, I'd suggest maybe just crafting your piece with the leather you want, and then adding your mods. Once you get more familar with imbueing and can use queen forge and so on, then go on to the super uber pieces.

Or find a craftman who would be willing to make you some armour.

thanks for the tip. I really like the woodland armor option. Did you enhance with heart or blood after you imbued?

I have actually done both...

Bloodwood seems to work more often to get the mods I want.

However, heartwood gives you the chance of either Damage Increase or Hit chance increase on the armour.

However, you run the risk of getting mod, Durability, lower requirments, or mage armour instead of DI and HCI.

So, If you want to do it the cheap way, go bloodwood. If you want the Hit chance of Damage go heartwood. But expect to fail 4 out of 5 times enhancing, and then expect to get hit chance 1 out of 5 times of your successes.

When you imbue, and powder pieces, and then try to get hit chance it gets VERY expensive fast.

If you look at my post on this forum for price check on sampire suit, It is a heartwood enhanced suit.

Unless you just have gold to burn, I wouldn't do the imbue and enhance method.

I would do either:

a) make woodland armor out of heartwood until you got HCI/DI if you want it. Then imbue from there.

b) Get a spined runic kit. Just make pieces until you get a piece with numebers you like. Imbue from there.

Yeah so far i seem to be getting better results with spined then imbue...

Another question in the same vane. When I am bored, I try and get heartwood fletchers. As of late I have been unbelievably fortunate if the numbers I have read are true. Anyways do i burn a few to try and make an imbuable uber bow or just hold on to them because I don't think they can lose value.
