Trying to make a heavy X bow with atleast 35 (40 better) SSI.. not sure the best way to go about it?? Should I make the bow with a low end kit looking for a 30SSI bow then enhance it? or do I make it with a High end kit hoping to hit the 35 or 40 SSI and hopefully some of the other mods I am looking for.. like velocity, balanced, HLD?

Any help on this is appreciated before I go about burning through a bunch of kits..

Thanks in advance!

Best is option A, buring low end kits looking for 30 then enhance. Break rates on adding the extra 10ssi to make it 40 are fairly low(1 in 6 I've noticed).

Make your 30 ssi, balanced, hit whatever bow. Make sure you buff it to 255 first and then enhance....good luck.

Thanks Picus...

I tried making a regular heavy bow (exceptional Heavy).. then I imbued it to 30 SSI then enhanced it to 40SSI..

Problem is it only left room for 2 more attributes?? It only has 40SSI and I bumped damage increase down to 1%? Confused as to how this represents 3 attributes??

I went ahead and put on Balanced and Velocity then bumped DI back up... So now I have a Heavy Xbow That is Velocity 50%, Balanced, Ash, SSI 40%, DI 22%, Lower Requirements 20%.. Does the Lower Requirements count as a mod? I looked at other heavies that have been imbued and they all have the Lower requirements PLUS 5 mods.. such as one that is Hit Fireball 40, Vel 40, Balanced, Ash, SSI 40, DI 11, LQ 20 and another that is HLD 50, Vel 46, Hit Lightening 44, SSI 35, DI 15, LQ 20

Just dont understand how they get the 5 mods plus the LQ?? Am I doing something wrong? does the enhancement count as a mod?

the 20% Lower Requirements from Ash (the other thing added by the wood) is property #3. All the other bows you saw were not enhanced until AFTER the other properties were all added. It's a bit riskier but will get you a better weapon.

NEXT TIME....Don't Enhance until after you add all the other properties you want.

Thanks Basara...

Looks like its going to be a bit of a costly bow to create.. worth it in the end though.. I hope!

I thought the low end runic fletching kits and runic saws can't reach 100% intensities that are enjoyed by runic hammer and sewing kits. Maybe uo.com playguide is outdated and I was mis-informed?

That is right. Only the heartwood can get that swing speed. I had to have this pointed out to me recently too in another thread. If you want balanced then the low end kit is the way to go, otherwise, I didn't notice anything else the low end kit saves. Running through some I think you can get usually 10-15 SSI when that property adds to the bow.

If you want balanced use the low end kits either oak or ash. You will get 1-2 reasonable starters with the balanced property.

If you don't want balanced then lower the DI to 1%, imbue SSI and all other properties. Raise the DI to desired final level to reach 500.

Enhance.

Plan on making three or four bows to get one, but crossing fingers does help...I tested this. This means you need to get about three times the number of resources in the first place. It is best to do this before you start the crafting process to lessen the amount of "upset" that is caused.

To answer your question, lower requirements 20% does take up an imbue slot. Enhancing should be last to eliminate that but I think it causes a higher chance of breakage. Just depends if you need that last mod slot for anything.

I have a nice split resist dropped bow I had someone make for me and I gave up that 5th mod just to ensure a better chance that it didn't break. Plus I didn't have much weight left so there wasn't much use to having that slot anyway. I bumped something else up way high instead.
