Imbuing gets harder and more expensive

Thats compleate and utter bawbag I know of 3 maybe 4 players who have maxed out suits,
That's it? I know of at least 3x that many, and I don't even PvP. Hell, most of my chars have suits with 5 mods on every piece, and I only do PvM, and didn't really try very hard to build my suits.

OK so you know of 9-12 PvP'ers with Ubber suits, what about the other 1000+ players? who have lesser items and are now faced with playing against Guilds with maxed out imbued items now?

Ps I now have 118 imbuing and will 120 it today. Its not me thats going to suffer, my comment is for those who will be unable to 120 for weeks now!

What part of "I don't PvP" didn't you get? I don't interact with 99% of the PvP population because they're in Fel, where I don't normally go except for certain things, and then I never see anyone. The few that I mentioned are just the ones that I know personally that PvP that I've actually looked at their suits, but only because they also do PvM so were in Tram.

I don't think it's going to be the wholesale slaughter you're painting a picture of. Most already have suits that are near max on mods. The only thing Imbuing will do is give them a few extra % points here and there. They're not going to gain 100 skill points and a bazillion maxed out mods because of it.

So what made you qualified to comment on my posting then? I am a PvP'er I have lived in fell for 10 years now. My Suit sucks big time! Most of my guild mates suit sucks or border on average. My weapons are average.

But now after today I will be able to get the better suits and weapons and yes it will make a big difrence. But I can say that coz I do PvP unlike you!

Come down to Yew Gate tonight (Europa) and i will show you just how fast my new bow will kill you compaired to my old one. I will even let you wear my old suit, see if you think its that great

pvp here pvp there .... pvper are the biggest whiners it seems

train your imbuing ... while you do it you cant pvp so nobody has the upper hand about you

when you finished training imbuing you can make your uber suit and have the upper hand about the other people who are standing at soulforges training imbuing.

i dont see any problems.

maybe you should train imbuing instead of whining .... maybe that will help to reach 120 faster ... just a hint

The fact that I've been around long enough to know better.

The fact that your suit sucks is all on you. Same goes for your guild mates. If you guys got together and worked toward a common goal, every one of your characters would be in kick ass suits. The fact that you and the rest of your guild have sucky suits just shows that your guild doesn't work together like that. There's nothing imbuing or any other skill can do to fix your decisions.

But now after today I will be able to get the better suits and weapons and yes it will make a big difrence. But I can say that coz I do PvP unlike you!
I said I don't PvP, not that I never have, nor that I'm an idiot that can't pay attention.

Yeah, my 200+ ping would sure be awesome. Especially with all the hackers and scripters around.

Your full of crap, Just coz you play PvM for years gives you no right to say YOU KNOW better at PvP. Man your the noob i was talking about in the first posting PvM'er who thinks they know it all. You know nothing about PvP full stop!

My suit sucks coz i am poor but if you want to give me 300 mill X 7 chars i will make an effort on your behalf to make it/them better

You are an idot. Again I repost due to your inability to read: Gives the Upper hand

Youve been pvping/playing for 10 years now and have a sucky suit....how is that even possible? Sounds like some fluff is being blown from your direction.

Most of my guild mates suit sucks or border on average. My weapons are average.
What, did they just join the game in the last year or so? You or your guild really dont sound like a vets to me at all.

But now after today I will be able to get the better suits and weapons and yes it will make a big difrence. But I can say that coz I do PvP unlike you!
Good, thats EXACTLY what the devs wanted.

Now we all know Connor is no Pvper, but it seems your command of the English language is mediocre by saying "YOU KNOW better at PvP."
And I dont think Connor is implying he knows more about pvp then you. Hes saying what the hell are you doing for 10 years to only have a crap suit and crap weapons.

My suit sucks coz i am poor but if you want to give me 300 mill X 7 chars i will make an effort on your behalf to make it/them better
HAHAHAHAHA anyone want to agree with the misguided souls statement?

I'll say this once more, for the last time. Play nice, leave out the personal attacks.

The place for pvp is in game, not on this board.

I have to say imbuing doesn't even come close to my current suits it will just let me organize my jewelry better. Currently am at 119 took me about 24 hours of spread out game time this last week. Once you get around 110 and make it to 119 you relized you used as much resources as you used getting from 40 to 110. This last point is going to be expensive as hell. But almost there.

LOL, so youre *speaking* for other people. How about you let those other people do the *speaking for themselves* eh? Amazing concept I know.

And like I said, the information was there, IF you looked hard enough.

Here's an even more amazing concept, UO champ.

There are many people who don't post or read much here anymore because of the useless ass sludge that people like you post.

I've trained every craft skill there is to train in UO. Nearly every skill that UO has to offer in fact.

Yes there are harder skills than others, but that does not change the fact that this is the hardest craft skill to train. And hands down the most expensive time consuming one to train. Now some folks will like that whilst I suspect the rest of us who are not ass planted to our computer desks 24/7 will not.

I think a picture is starting to form about ye.

Please continue to dazzle us with your UO kaknowledge and be our hero.

Better yet, go win UO.

The major concern of the thread was that it has become more time consuming and expensive to train this skill. Most of that concern has been abated with the exception of the fact that they have taken away an OPTION to use up ingots ...and ONLY ingots, to create residue.

And I think that blows. I could have used up what little ingots I have to save me some time and effort. Now that is not an option for me and others.

Please now tell us o awesome guy how I suck now because of that :fight:

Better yet, tell us your splendid method of how to win UO without the pomp.

Lets keep it polite, people, please.

1. when a property gets high-cost to imbue look at putting on 2 properties instead, it can work out cheaper.
2. Fastest bag filling mob to kill I've found so far is bake kitsunes. Bigger stuff takes longer to kill.
3. making in Oak and unravelling is only quicker if you don't have to first chop the oak.
4. What's the rush? So what if someone got to 120 before you, as far as I'm aware we're not in a race.

#2. Oni's are good too. I can't believe I just said that. Oh well, not like its not already camped half the time I wanna do it up.

There are plenty of bag filling monsters that work well. It's just time consuming and the only option for those of us who don't/won't mine or use "autopilot".

I've not tried baked kittens yet. Thanks for the info.

#3. Oak is harder to come by than iron ore. It sucks when the god's take away options.

#4. Indeed. But I must carefully question the integrity of someone who keeps these amounts of resources lying around their house/banks. I know I know. Innocent until proven guilty. Yes there are powergamers out there who do things by the book. But then....there are.....others........

I'll field this one....

We just want to get this extremely boring and highly expensive skill trained up so we can move on to enjoying all of the other new content to it's fullest, possibly with some newly imbued items to beef our chars up, without having this unfinished skill hanging over our heads.

LOL...and this!

Yeah, imbuing is crazy expensive and time consuming. I'm actually not sure if I want to sell the SoT for it I got, it would save me quite a bit of time and resources when I hit 117, but the money I would get for it would pay for a lot of resources. I dunno.

Oh really. I highly doubt informing people that information about imbuing was available to them months before Stygian Abyss came out is useless ass sludge.

Now now, anyone can PvP, even with a horrible suit and horrible weapons.

It just means they wont be able to do much or survive very well. Or maybe they have stealth. I don't know. But this age of PvP with a horrible suit and weapons you just can't be very accomplished in PvP.

Unless maybe you're a very fast pure mage-type that doesn't use weapons and has decent fc/fcr and doesn't get hit. It's possible, right? lol

i think that's what it's really about not our suits being crappy ,but the fact we are just holding our own with our great suits and now everybody will have better equipment so we will now show how bad we do suck,or something along those lines.

yes PvPer have evolved into whiners that is why is stopped doing factions and stuff long ago

?? I mean, if you are in a pvp guild whose members are not willing to pool the resources to allow ONE crafter to get to 120, you are better off changing guild fast...

Are you serious DEVs???
I personally know nothing about imbuing and have not yet tried it but I believe that whatever the cost is, it is more then justified.
Some of the imbued weapons that I have already seen on Atlantic vendors are absolutely insane. To make even 1 weapon this powerful I think that it would be completely fair if it took the imbuer many millions or a complete years worth of gathering if the person didnt actually have the gold to buy the ingredients or whatever it is that is needed for the actual imbuing.

What a shock though. The typical Uo ADD gang is upset that something with gigantic potential/payoff may be time consuming or costly lol.

I think they should have left it as it was. Imbuing is expensive as hell to train. With the amount of gold that gets spent just on gems to blow through, you could buy every single val hammer crafted armor piece you need in Luna to outfit several characters.

And this is supposed to equalize things for newbies?

Yeah, right. The old Dallas Cowboy's stadium is for sale. I'll give you a hell of a deal on it....
You seriously don't realize how absurd your above statement sounds to a normal player do you?

"equalize things for newbies" What farking possible reason would anyone want to do that for? Its an MMORPG, not Playstation. How many times do you have to hear this before it sinks in?

Newbies already have so much available to them it is mind boggling.

Vets have what they have worked for and newbies have what they deserve and work for.

I'm a vet and have alot but I can tell you for sh_tsure that I would possibly trade it all away for that same "newbie" excitement I used to get daily from being new to the game and finding things out on my own.
I certainly am not one of those fools that only pines for the old days and really thinks that Uo should change anything just to satisfy my nostalgia but bottom line is that most of us realize that even though Uo is and can still be great it is never the same as the 'honeymoon'

Being obsessed over the 'haves' and 'have nots' in the game is just sad and only popps you out in the end.

*shakes head*

If someone had that many arties to unravel, they'd do better selling colored soul forges than making items. I highly doubt you'll see anyone mass producing items except for possibly some generic types.
Remember when valorite runic hammers were supposed to be these things that would take years for a shard to see even one of? *goes back to rummaging through thousands of val-crafted sammy plate pieces in Luna*

I have been making exec samauri legs for the mage armor. I imbue MR, SR, and HPR, then add in LRC. That takes 4 enchanted, and 1 magical residue. When I unravel them I get 1-2 magical residue. That just feels kind of low return. 1 enchanted from unravel seems like it would be better.

You used 20 iron to get 2 residue. 60k iron is selling for 600k-1m. I just got 60K oak from one of the more costly vendors in Luna for 300K, I make bows at a cost of 7 oak per, so the bow has cost me 35g and returns 2 residue. Look around, people are still selling OAK cheap.

60k OAK should get you 17K residue at a cost of 300k.

1) Any newbie can literally pick up all 110's and some 115 powerscrolls on the ground when Champ dies and peeps exit. Can also pick up same at Yew gate when players head back home.

2) Any and every noob can join a faction and have uber artifacts/gear asap by exploiting the faction system. A 1 month old character can farm enough silver for anything.
And there are also very decent minor artys to be had asap

3) You are saying that newbies should be close to vet players? Do you even understand the word "newbie" ??

Have vet issues much? Big bad old vets and players that have amassed wealth and experience over a long period of time are ruining the game for you?
Get over it son. Or let me guess, everybody but you and your crew that is wealthy cheats and you just cant deal with it?

* shakes head again *
