[Imbuing] Imbuing and Enhancing Ringmail Mining Gloves...

Just interested in seeing how people are (or are not) imbuing and/or enhancing Ringmail Mining gloves and what seems to be the best way to do them.

I did a pair recently and decided on the following:

Imbuing
LRC 20%
Mage Armor
Phys Resist 15
Fire Resist 10
Cold Resist 10

Enhancement

I enhanced with Copper and came up with the following as the outcome:

Not too shabby, but here's where I'm wondering if they can be done "better"... Most people would think that because they are Ringmail you'd want Mage Armor on them by default (and LRC because there's no reason not too). However, being that they're basic quality, you only get 450 points to work with and Mage Armor is a flat 140/450 chewed up... and, well to be honest while my miner does use Magery to get around, he's never been in a position where Mage Armor has made a difference. When he does fight Ore Elems, he uses a Earth Elem Slayer Mage Weapon, not Magery spells.

Secondly, I did a chart of the base resists and Enhanced resists and Copper is the only one that gives you a net double digits in any resist (10 Poison), however it gives a total of 24 additional resist point vs 26, 27, and 28 point combinations available.

Thoughts, ideas, flames?

I like! I collect the +5 mining gloves that I find on the floor of the smithy shop. For some reason, the idea of enhancing with copper after imbuing never occurred to me. I'm thinking maybe adding MR 1 or 3. Thanks for the great idea!

I keep all the +5s I get as well and was considering if I could find a good standardized mod combination, making as many as would come out with mods like the above to sell on a vendor at a decent price.

I enhanced several mining gloves prior to the imbuing changes. But recently I tried to enhance several gloves with valorite all went poof. First I tried to enhance imbued stuff...poof...then I tried without imbuing ...poof. So I did a bunch of BODs and got all POF (poor me). This is the one my smith uses ETA: my smith/miner is a macer without chivalry

As all but one of my miners are Chiv users wearing medable suits, but no med or focus skill, Mage Armor is a must to allow passive mana regeneration.

After that, I've only done one set of gloves to specifically match the resists needed for a suit.

For a generic pair, I'd probably do Mage Armor, several elemental (non-physical) resists as best needed for a suit, and then enhance for physical resist using Dull Copper.

I usually enhance with Dull Copper (save some PoF plus get extra Phys resist) and if it survives, then add 18% LRC. No money wasted on PoF nor major imbue ingredients. Like a previous poster, I use magery more as a means of transport, not for offense or defense. Riding a Fire Beetle, I can only fire off one EV or Earth Elemental anyway...
