imbuing a weapon

im not at home so i cant check this myself but if i wanted to imbue a weapon with 5 properties but the weapon to be imbued is a gm carpentry crafted exceptional weapon with 100 arms lore out of normal wood and has the 40 % damage increase mod on it already from the arms lore does that 40 % damage increase count as 1 of the 5 mods and has its own weight limiting me to only being able to imbue 4 mods on the weapon?

if so is there a way to remove that 40 % damage increase mod, or should i just go buy a weapon off a npc vendor and imbue that instead

yes it counts as a mod! if you buy a npc weapon then the max is 450% so its kind of a trade off

arms lore gives a bonus and so does exceptional so you have 3 choices
1 craft weapon with exceptional giving 500 cap but 1 mod taken by the di
2 craft a non exceptional weapon giving you 450 with 0 mods taken up
3 buy a normal weapon from npc giving you 450 cap and 0 mods taken

its kinda messed up but they dont want you having a exceptional weapon with 500 cap and no di to take up a mod

hope that makes sense

also you could lower di to 1 it will still take up a mod but will give you more imbuing weight to play with

i dont have a tinker but does the whole exceptional thing apply to rings and bracelets as well? cause ive never seen an "exceptional ring" assuming that tinkers can craft rings and bracelets of course.

and if there is such a thing as a crafted exceptional ring would it have any mods that take up space?

You can lower one property with imbuing by imbuing a lower value over its actual value. That way you can lower damage increase down to 1%. (Or 20 or 25 or to what you want/need.)

Dont you want the extra DI?

And ive noticed that if i try to add stealing to a ring and it has necromancy on it.

It will overide the necromancy....

Im wondering if the skill is in same skill group if that happens?

Back to the DI..

would you not want a weapon with DI/SSI/HLA/HLD.

Im having trouble figuring out what stats should go on a radiant scimiter for my Samp...

Yes - check the threads with the skill groups (here and in Player's Corner).

Some people get enough DI from equipment that they don't need the full Exceptional DI from the weapon itself, or get close enough that they are willing to sacrifice some DI for other properties. This is especially true for PvP, where maximum damage is capped, as the amount 5 or 10 points of DI make is miniscule compared to the benefits of some other property.

as Basara said I have 2 suits for my archer 1 is 88 di and the other is 100 not counting weapon so i prefer no di on my weapons or very little!
