Imbued Items and Durablility

When I played the beta it seemed that the deal was that any imbued item's durability would be capped at 150 and the item would not be allowed to have any durability added to it afterwards. So you imbue item A and it's durability goes to 150 (kinda like getting an artifact in doom which all have 255) and after that it is stuck at 150 until it breaks. However, the items were considered "normal" items in terms of durabilily decreasing. So an imbued item's durability would diminish at the same rate as any other none imbued item.

It seems that when the expansion came out, it was changed to where the item to be imbued is POF'd to 255 and then imbued with all the needed mods. Then it wears down at an exceedingly faster rate than non-imbued items. Plus it still can't be POF'd anymore once it is imbued.

Now, I dunno about other's opinions, but it seems the latter was a WAY better deal than the current situation. I mean would you rather have an item that has it's durability automatically taken to 150 and wears at a normal rate or items that have to be POF'd to 255 or whatever and then wear down to zero within a couple of hours.

The reason I'm stating this is because of the numerous complaint threads regarding the diminishing rate for durability on imbued items and the fact that POF (Powder of Fortifying) is almost impossible to find now.

Oh and P.S.
Whoever decided to make the change to the durability factors on imbued items was probably the person who designed the puzzle room. LOL :dunce:

In closed beta, I was always able to powder an item to 255/255 then imube and it didnt drop the durability to 150.

Also the increased durability lost isnt exclusive to imbued item only. For example I have a self repair 3 val hammer made gorget which used to be at max durability always (because self repair gives durability quicker than the durability lost UNDER THE OLD FORMULA). Now I am losing durability even on some items with 4 self repair. And for armor with self repair 1 or 2 I know have to actually repair them from time to time.

I use Soul Seeker and Blaze of Death on daily basis before AND after SA. The durability lost is about 200% to 400% quicker, definitely not cool. And mind you I was one of the few that argued that items werent losing durability fast enough because 255/255 used with care means 30000+ total durability which is months of life per item even for the powergamers. Yet with 4 times faster durability lost I think it's a bit over the board ESPECIALLY for mage weapon on a Wither Necro. 255 points of durability mage weapon wont even last you long enough for a spawn.

So, I'm taking it that you agree that the previous method of the item being brought to a durability of around 150 considering it was below that number to begin with and diminishing at the normal rate that all items were at before is way better than whatever change was implemented with the expansion.

That way, POF isn't a rarity anymore and no will will have to complain about items wearing down too fast.
