Dear god.. Why can't we delete threads? Or can we and I'm just missing it?

Delete is found in the edit menu... but once someone responds the post will not disapear... it will just read deleted. I think that is correct.

I did click edit.. however, don't see it, even when the thread was empty. I can delete POSTS, can't delete threads I start, it seems.
