It's pretty sad...went through a bunch of my old vendor shop runebooks and found a ton of homes idoc :wall::wall:

Guess my house will be among the IDOCs; good luck to whoever gets it. I think I left 60k valorite ingots, maybe another 500k of assorted ingots, a bunch of rares, several sets of uber imbued and enhanced armor, a bunch of high end new monster loot and artifacts, something like 45 or 50 one million gold checks, and all sorts of vet rewards in it.

I was among the horde who finally gave up on UO last year when they decided against a classic shard.

I didn't even know about account migration until I decided to check the forums a couple days ago for old times' sake. At this point, it's been a long time since I've played, so it's not really worth it for me to come back just to refresh the house. Before I left, I got all the gold off my vendors and I stuffed all my characters' bank vaults with 1 million gold checks in case I ever do came back; guess I'll just have to use those to get started over if I ever do play again. That is, if inflation hasn't run rampant and made all those million gold checks worthless by then.

Now it will be visible for all how massive the paying customer loss exactly is..
Hell for me its visible EVERY DAY i play how many people left, my hometown Moonglow is EMPTY 24/7 i am surprise if i catch ONE person recalling in there in WEEKS and i am on average 5 hours a day around moonglow...

I spent a couple of hours now running along the lands and have barely visited 25% of all land - all the facetes - and i have 5 runebooks full of houses that are in decay cicle...

To my surprise, since i check all the locations again after server up, i found yet 5 houses beiing refreshed and 4 runes leed to open space now so it seems the houses got demolished OR i failed marking the rune..

So at the end it seems like at least a few peeps come back and made it through account management after some time...

But this will only be the FIRST wave my guess...

Its sad, and i am realy in a worry that this is the beginning of the end of UO, now visible for everyone, Myth and EA do know this since at least 2 years anyway and it seems to me they wait for 15th year celebration, keep it up for one more year and - and i HOPE its not going to be - than start to do some hardcore savings - if we LUCKY, they work on server migrations - and keep up 8 shards maximum - and we can choose were we want to transfer to - however this is technical possible...

On Pacific i guess 30% of the current placed houses will fall - i even found rune libraries and some kind of museums that are in day 2 decay cicle...

Sad but true, i think they decided to turn on decay to make a final cut for something even worse comming up the next 1 1/2 years - is my guess...

Well not really, because the RTB homes are not going IDOC. Could be as much as 50% or even more of homes left are RTB homes.

Personally I think everyone should stop caring so much about how many people are playing the game and just enjoy it while it's still around.

My point was not much about how many players may be playing the game, but more towards whether IDOCs should be seen as a blessing or a curse.

Personally, I see IDOCs as a curse and a negative thing because for every IDOC that I see, this means to me that there is 1 less subscription for Ultima Online.......

So, I have a hard time to understand how players who like UO, may feel happy to see an IDOC...

If a loved one dies, surely you would rather have the loved one back, if it were possible, but they are gone.

If you receive an inheritance from the deceased loved one's estate, that inheritance is not a curse or a negative thing, it is a blessing.

That does not mean you are happy that your loved one died and enjoying IDOCs does not mean IDOCers want other players to quit the game, so they can loot their stuff.

You can thanks these forums for that one...
I been saying for the past few years a classic shard would be a great thing for the game & bring back many people plus keep them from leaving. This would be the greatest form of advertising for UO.
But thank these forums and the anti classic people & the mods that lock or remove threads that talk about it.
Anyways continue your idoc discussion about all the people who left & keep trying to figure out where they went. I think there was a post some time ago & hundreds of people said they would just give up if we didn't get some form of a classic shard and EA just didn't give a crap so here ya go.

Those accounts were already gone. How many more have come back to save their houses? That’s really the question. I think having folks have to pay to keep their house is a good way to keep them paying. For those that don't well they were already gone all this is having their house go down. The increased space will allow player towns to expand and new communities to form. Will it be as large player wise as it was with AOS no, but at least we can come together and build communities which may have many of us more active. Its not a sign of anything good or bad that they are being turned back on its just clearing out what is already dead and providing a boost to come back for those that wish to keep what they have.

Then there are those people with mega amounts of houses they don't pay for ,or who rotate payments around.
I am sure that many idocs will fall into that category.
For me ,I am not going idocing ,I Am one who will play till I cannot log on anymore

2 hours?? I thought we were all talking about them lasting longer than usual? lol

All you nay sayers.. the houses are, and have been taking up valubale space .. if there were no IDOCS many of us would be homeless. Its a neccessary part of UO.

And to George.. what shard is that house on? :p
