here's an idea for necromancy, as necromancers lack a commandible minion (aside from wolves with the dark wolf). instead of re-doing animates and such, perhaps necromancers can create a 'monster', think about Dr. Frankenstein's creation, a ghoulish monster of various body parts.
this monster would take 2-3 control spots, be fully commandable, and trainable. they would be bound to the necromancer, and will recall with like a bonded pet, but would not be bonded in the sense that they become a ghost when they die. instead, you recover the monster's brain, and can recreate the monster with some stat-loss. they will not be transferable, they require high spirit speak to command (at least 80 skill). they can be healed with healing, magery, spellweaving. they would need a way to be stabled...
the create the monster, the necro would need various body parts and ingredients. the parts and ingredients are put in a skeleton container (they could appear on larger monsters known to eat humans, like ant lions have), and the necromancer casts animate on it. depending on the necromancer's skills in anatomy and spirit speak will determine the power of the monster, a minimum of 80 in each is required to create one. there would be a large hit to karma in the creation, as it's considered an abomination. the monster appears as a hued zombie. when the monster dies, a skilled necro can recover the monster's brain, and recreate the monster with a hit to it's stats/skills (perhaps the necro would need to have 90 anatomy to recover the brain when opening the corpse)
this could have a lot of possibilities, the devs could have different body parts that give abilities, or ingredients could give abilities.
anyone interested in discussing this idea?
