I noted that my mystic gargoyle needs magery to use the old style mage weapon system and his native magics are mysticism.
Should gargoyles not have a weapon magic conversion of his own? But that could unbalance things more. So if magery weapons instead converted other magics into usable style that sounds so much better. All the same rules this remain in play about the weapon abilities and restrictions.
So I guess the idea is to change magery weapon tag to something else & expand the skill set check.
Not sure what I would call the new tag name. Arcane Weapon or something the masses can agree on.

Could even use other magic systems if there was no balancing issues. I could think of none for Mysticism. After all they were powerful in their own magics.

I'd love to see a Necro-Weapon some day. Would be nice not to have to have magery...

i dunno about other people but if you're using some type of casting, its pretty tough to kill people purely using necro or purely using mysticism, those skill help aid magery to me, same with spellweaving

Mage Weapon should work for mystics as well. Especially since Mysticism is the only other magic skill that requires Spell Channeling.

Spellweaving shouldn't because it doesn't require a secondary skill.

Necromancy doesn't really need because I don't know of anyone who's a Necromancer and not either a fighter or a Mage as well. But Necromancy *could* be a candidate.

[satire]Yeah, then I can make a sampy with no weapon skill - just raise bush or chiv to 120. Would allow room for both anatomy and resist.[/satire]

What kinds of magic, specifically?
