The patch isn't to remove her. It's to stop players exploiting the use of Arielle's blessed bag (no insurance necessary).

I really doubt that they will remove her. she is part of the weaving quest to get a special scroll. That would cause more issues. I bet that they will just unbless the basket or make it a different item.

Arielle isn't going anywhere, she has a part to play in at least 3 quests. The change is simply to fix an exploit involving an item necessary to one of them.
