Despite my new found cash supply I don't feel the urge to pay for another month. When I started SP it had a decent population and regular action. It was my salvation from near tears at what I saw UO had become (after I had prepaid my first 6 months). For the past year or so it's been very weak, nobody has been around. All the people I knew are gone (or semi-gone). I can't play Trammel, I can't play insurance. It's not the UO I remember from the beta test.

I've tried plenty of templates to amuse myself.. thief, doom thief, assassin, mage, crafter, tamer, t-mapper, bard.. it didn't work. I have a great house and enough gold and resources to do anything, but the fun isn't there. Maybe it's because I have so much.. I always liked the struggle to achieve, not the actual achievement. I think the IDOC I hit alone where I scored 40ish mil in resources ruined it for me.

I honestly can't remember if I put my SS's in the bank, and maybe I'll get the urge to pay for a month to store them. But I'll probably let my keep fall sometime within 6 months (If I pay for one last month of checking). I don't plan on selling things I've collected, I don't need or really care for the gold. I'll let my place fall in the hopes of a good old fashioned heavily-loaded Siege IDOC, even if it won't live up to the past great ones.

I can't say what I'm playing now, except that it's not EA/Mythic UO. There are hundreds of people playing it at the same time. Maybe I'll run into some of you someday.

PS: I'll let everyone know if I reactivate to finalize my departure. Otherwise consider this my 2-ish month notice for the IDOC.

I know yuck is about the only real BoDer left.. but I'll throw this out there for no reason. My BS BoD collection is fairly advanced (but nothing like Patty's) while my tailoring BoD collection is very rudimentary (although I have a lot of them, again not as many as Patty).

That blows... Almost everyone I knew is gone.
Yes, when you get everything we ever wanted it sucks the life outta the game. I to enjoy the struggle of gaining my riches but when I hit the big one the game just doesn't have the luster anymore. PM me what u r playing now.
Been looking for something new for a long time.

Not that I want to see anyone on this shard quit, but I am now wondering if this means you might reconsider selling your perfect event book. If so, ICQ me (10550918) and we'll talk.

I think the removal of the NEW books was the first and maybe biggest blow that contributed to the death of the shard. You are an idiot.

I hope you don't totally screw up your next game too.

Good riddens.

lol, the books had nothing to do with the death of Siege or the life of it...

If you want to point blame, start with your guild JSV up and quitting, that seems like a good place.

I quit a few months ago and went back to playing DOAC. On a typical evening I can log on and fight up to 40 different people from 2 different realms. Whens the last time that happened on Siege on a nightly basis?

Eventually i'll quit that game also, there's only so much you can do in any given game before it gets old.

The removal of the locked down books didn't help the population, but neither did the cretins who would trash the books I dropped several times a day...they're named on the forums somewhere, I posted about it when it was happening.

I just had a battle against hundreds of players. :)

I dunno. I'd still be logging into siege regularly if it worked and functioned the way it's supposed to.

The endgame is what I fell in love with in UO. Even after doing done did it all, having competitive fun with friends against foes is what kept me coming back. When the competition was destroyed, so was my desire to come back.

A world full of invisible players who avoid me and my clique. A world full of players not playing against me at the same level I'm playing against them (in terms of gear.)

I haven't had a real desire to play since EVO beat out OTF... that was the last time I had a challenge to overcome, an enemy to defeat... a reason to play.

It's lonely at the top.

If I wasn't limited by the ROC, I'd show you what I'm laughing at every time I see your face come round.

Back on topic though... I'm sure you'd be happy to know that the last even fight worth remembering was sakey, crunch and I versus you, tek and shak in t2a several years ago.

Was a half an hour of pure fun fighting against you three until Yama showed up and I wound up dying so we pulled out to regroup. Came back and the spawn was finished and the fight was over.

Too bad your poop troop of panzies went to carebear land to PvE.

Everything since has been a few of us stomping on the horrible hordes of stealth tamers and smoke bomb super stars.

*tear*

Good Question...
"A world full of invisible players who avoid me and my clique. A world full of players not playing against me at the same level I'm playing against them (in terms of gear.)" The 'gear' is what ruined the game...who wants to compete when it would take a year to 'gear' up to even be able to compete. Who in hell wants to come play at a shard where the opertive word is 'Clique'? And if all things were 'even' like the old days of '7x' skills and limited gear...you'd be quitting because you'd be getting your arse kicked all the time...so take it on the road...see ya next time your 'new' game don't cut it and you come crawling back to UO

Everyone has a "clique" in this game. Players just call them guilds...

Many of us want monster loot to be more readily available to the players so they can compete on a level playing field instead of looking for chincy cheap kills, but rather are PvPing for the fun and challenge of the fight. Right now people PvP to get that kill. They don't care how they get that kill, but killing is all that matters.

Same reason players run forever abusing the no mount stam. Same reason players run naked stealth tamers. Same reason most players on siege run stealth templates and smoke bomb the second a fight isn't going their way. The same reason why players hide behind their private home force fields. The same reason why players would rather gank someone than take them head on. The same reason why pvp on this shard is an utter ****ing joke.

And for the record, I'm the one who started the push to make monster loot on this shard more available to the players (since it's lots more risk for the same rewards you get on prodo.)

And if all things were 'even' like the old days of '7x' skills and limited gear...you'd be quitting because you'd be getting your arse kicked all the time...so take it on the road...see ya next time your 'new' game don't cut it and you come crawling back to UO
I've been playing UO since the beginning. I haven't quit UO, I'm just not playing Siege until this shard gets fixed.

Thanks.
