Aye, the download is just a base version of the client without all the stuff you need to play.

You'll need to run the patcher for quite some time.

The log in servers are or were having issues today. Check the posts on UO Hall and if you do get in on any client, don't log out. I was staring at verifying acct. for forever several times earlier. Not sure if it was me or UO itself I went over to UO Hall........... !
