Wow, I missed that in the publish notes. Thanks for posting.I understand what you are saying, but.....
Atleast the title won't go away from decay as long as you log in *shrugs*
I might be dense, but if you buy the title do you have to keep city loyalty at all? Or can you buy the title and let it decay?Titles don't decay. Ones you bought it, you keep it.
Atleast the title won't go away from decay as long as you log in *shrugs*
Personal Attendant FTWI think it's a cute idea personally. For 50mil, you'd think that would buy one a few amenities, or at least special announcements by NPC's
If I can get a Doctor Title I (and I bet a lot of others) will name a character Who.And btw. i miss the real old titles - Doctor, Magistar, Professor, stuff like that..what about that...
And, if i buy a Docotor title on UO, will it count IRL - will i get a document for it?
ROFL
Isn't this simply another revert to the olden day's of refreshing houses about every 4 or five days or lose everything - - unless a trusted friend looked after house-refreshing for another, who, for any reason, had to be away from UO for any length of time?I understand what you are saying, but.....
At least the title won't go away from decay as long as you log in *shrugs*
I think this is too much, pay 50 million for a title ??Titles and prices:
Knight of ... 10K
Baronet of ... 100K
Baron of ... 1 Million
Viscount of ... 2 Million
Earl of ... 5 Million
Marquis of ... 10 Million
Duke of ... 50 Million
When i declared Loyalty to Jhelom i got Citizens of Jhelom right away without paying.
As long as you log in!!! <<<<< that's exactly what I mean by holding everyone a prisoner to the game!Wow, I missed that in the publish notes. Thanks for posting.![]()
So spend one mil and be a Baron instead of a Duke. The only difference between the two is that one says "Look how much money I spent!!!"I think this is too much, pay 50 million for a title ??
I feel top price should be no more then 5 million for a vanity Title
The average player has 50 million laying around to waste on something that gives no benefit at all ?
What are they thinking ?
After all the work, to work up and keep up my Loyalty, I now have to pay 50 million for my "reward" ?
This is one of the few times I really am dissapointed, baffeled and on the virge to stop with this event.
That is not the point ...So spend one mil and be a Baron instead of a Duke. The only difference between the two is that one says "Look how much money I spent!!!"
I concur. And it actually reflects medevil feudalism / rank quite well. The wealthy families got to buy their titles (Duke, Sherrif of Nottingham, etc) and the less weathly had smaller titles such as Knight, landowner, etc. Not everyone can have everything. I know I will never be a Duke of anything, and I'm quite ok with that. I prefer to spend my money (and time) trying to get more suits to outfit more chars for my pvpness.Umfufu
This is a gold sink its designed to take gold out of the game for those that are wildly weathly. Its the same thing we have been asking for. The title serves no purpose other then to say how rich you are I think its a great gold sink.

I think perhaps they should consider adding even more nobility titles maybe based on the location of the virtue city. Squire/Esquire, Jarl, Furst/Furstan, Prince/Prinzessin, Archduke/Grand Duke, Viceroy, and/or Protector/RegentI concur. And it actually reflects medevil feudalism / rank quite well. DONT NEED NO STINKIN TITLESsure...i know this one day log in feature and i like it - would be interresting what happens if you miss to log in 3 days, lets say...you get one title down or lose it complete?
and, how much would it be to get the highest title back if you Marquise? 40 Mil to get Duke back? or less..or 50 Mil again? lol
You grinded your loyalty and got your banner, and access to titles I'll never have because I decided the whole loyalty thing was stupid. Congratulations. Enjoy being a Knight or a Baron, the former especially being a cool-sounding title that even the very newest player can easily afford with a little ettin-farming.That is not the point ...
Oh come on Tina, aren't you the one who posted a completely random thread a while ago about how terrible it would be if they added skill decay back to the game? Do the developers really have to come out and explicitly deny whatever arbitrary doomsday scenario Tina Small dreamed up this week? For one thing, I'd like to know if down the road I'm going to have to participate in this "gold sink" concept just for the ability to go buy stuff from the NPCs in a specific town or stable my pets at a particular stable. Am I going to be prevented from going to certain places that I can currently go to now if I don't cough up enough gold to be an upstanding citizen? I'd really like to have an idea of just how poorly non-citizen characters are going to be treated versus citizen characters.
Because that might require something beyond coding - it might require additional artwork. It's a lot easier to throw a title together. Players like the titles, it gets a little gold out of the game, win-win. That's assuming somebody doesn't hit up a gold seller and spend a couple of bucks getting Marquis or whatever, causing the gold seller to go out and generate more gold, thereby negating the gold sink. I digress though. If they want a goldsink, why not just open some ingame store with bound vanity items ?
I sympathize with you - this whole event/story has been weird. That's the best way I can describe it. Some of the decaying stuff, how it's being explained, how it's too much of a grind.I personally just feel to introduce this tied to an Event is just not right.
Even tho UO is an 'old game', in some ways it's new. LOTRO has trade points for game time for example, others have similar.I why not just open some ingame store with bound vanity items ?
That is extremely well written and brings up some serious questions and doubts about where all this is heading. So far it is a wait and see. I wonder if it is all about keeping players logging in and busy while they (the developers and programmers) figure out what to do next and work on next? RULE #1: Make everyone stay busy, occupied and a prisoner to this useless vanity Title Item, giving the staff time to works on their NEXT publish or event?Unfortunately, I think some of us are still kind of mystified by this whole new "citizenship" issue.
For now, picking a city on the loyalty gump and declaring your citizenship seems to only give you the ability to put money in that city's coffers to buy a title. What's next, though? I really would like more information before deciding on anything. For one thing, I'd like to know if down the road I'm going to have to participate in this "gold sink" concept just for the ability to go buy stuff from the NPCs in a specific town or stable my pets at a particular stable. Some additional information at this point would really help me decide if this is going to be "fun" or if it's just going to make me feel like the last few years of playing where I wasn't terribly concerned about accumulating massive amounts of gold were the wrong way to go about playing UO. Instead of enjoying myself, maybe I should have been forcing myself to "buy low/sell high" every day, or gone to EM events and been a jerk to everyone else so I could get the most EM and Mesanna-labeled items and turned around and sold them, or invested in real estate and sold it for huge profits. Hmmm?
In a couple of months, am I gonna be kicking myself for not trying to become a UO billionaire? Am I even going to be able to keep the houses and possessions I currently have or is someone going to decide that in order to keep them I now have to pay some in-game tax in gold, on top of also paying a monthly subscription fee and paying for expansions, booster packs, and theme packs?
"What of the children?" She barely got the last word out as I killed her where she stood. My character, baren and quite amoral towards the wench's plight, could care less, and Neither do I. It's like a jigsaw puzzle with the cover missing. Sure, I might work it for a little while, it just gets old, very quickly.I really would like more information before deciding on anything.

Without a UI : Open Loyalty rating Menu with context menu on your ingame character. Then click city Loyalty Below. Then click citizenship titles. Then click the title you want to buy.how do i buy title in ec
They have said in another thread that once bought the titles will not decay.

Two QUESTIONS:
1. Does the City loyalty title NOT DECAY now, "as long as you log in" ?
Sorry about bringing this thread up again. I've been down and out with a cold since May 1st.
A great deal of hard work achieving Venerated City Loyalty Status has been lost.
Now,when trying to refresh loyalty status, Skara Brae, Britain and Trinsic are often full of RED RAIDERS from other cities. Do you get any loyalty gains from killing/taking-prisoner Raiders? I don't see much gain from them so ... next question:
2 . If you arrest a red raider, as suggested by the Capt of the Guard of a city who says the prisons in his city are full, so we should take the raiders to their own city,
how do you find out which city is the one from which the RAIDER originates ?
Thank you for that reply and information, Mirt. I logged in my most important characters occasionally. So that did help afterall even though the cities were full of Rioters and I would quickly leave and log out. Other of my characters loyalty fell by the wayside and now I can't even remember to which cities they were loyal. They all had at least adored status but mostly venerated.City loyality will not decay if you log in. The titles are forever it would seem from what the devs said at the time.
I should have mentioned that the decay will still continue until the patch goes live then it can be prevented by logging in. I realized my misstep there later but your welcome hopefully you can figure it out on all your characters. I keep my on a paper list right now maybe I will make a spread sheet but I am not sure.Thank you for that reply and information, Mirt. I logged in my most important characters occasionally. So it'sback to work I go,
With a Greater Dragon in toe - - and --
-- to find out if gains are made from Rioters and how to return captured Rioters to their home town.
