for the first time in about 3 or 4 or jeez maybe in 5 years.

I have to admit, I like the user interface. It's very clean and good looking. :thumbup1:

The game isn't sluggish or anything and I like the majority of the new graphics as well. I don't like that you can only run in linear directions though. The zooming in and out is pretty cool...wish I could zoom into more of a behind my character type view but oh well.

The one main thing I don't like is the weapons and armor...there are too many numbers and it's just plain too confusing for me. I think thats a major problem to try to sort out, I haven't decided whether I'm willing to try to or not. I'd prefer it be much more simplistic. I think this would be deciding factor, if it becomes too frustrating to calculate things I don't think I'll remain.

Anyways, hello...if anyone might remember me from Sonoma or a little bit on Lake Superior, hello. I've mellowed out a lot since those days I hope hehe.

It's alot to take in Farquhar...It is a bit intimidating at first and you will have to sort of relearn the game but once you get back on your feet, you will love it again....I came back in November and haven't left. My suggestion to you is join a guild whose members can be there for those moments of cluelessness and you will get back into the swing of things in notime. BTW, the armor is just the beginning. This has become an item based game (think Diablo).

This was (properly named) the "Age of Shadows". Kind of funny that some of the people behind it went off to World of Warcraft (an item based game).

The brightside is that it did add some depth to UO's combat and item system. At the cost of some of hte original gameplay. The focus shifted a little to item aquisition as opposed to other things.

I seem to remember your name from my Sonoma days. I ran with 408 and 409 until I quit the account I had about 5-6 years ago. My char name was Raven.

I was initially put off by all the numbers as well. The game has changed a lot (I was away for 8 years). However, after about a week of playing I now understand everything much better and it's not bad at all.

The only problem I have is the rational behind some of the items... It's not uncommon for my ring to provide better armor rating (physical resistance) than my breastplate... Or a Tribal Mask provides better AR/PR than a platehelm.

Anyway, there is a lot to learn, so don't be afraid to ask questions in game or on the forums. Make friends and get into a guild if possible.

In the end, welcome back, good luck, and stick with it.
