Dang....just accidentally bought something from the catalog that cost a lot. Now I have $273 left. Boy, I really miss being able to sell back for money.

I am so sorry this happened to you TK. It happened to my hubby also. He accidently bought a fountain of all things and it cost him close to 100k I think. This is no sell back is something I bet many miss just because of this reason right here.

Wow ;-; That stinks. I'm sorry. I miss the sell back option, too. A friend left me with a size 8 lot filled with the tackiest furniture Ea-Land has to offer and the sellback would've been a huge boost in getting the place back into working stability.

They should give us the option to sell back up to 5 mins after the purchase or something. After 5 mins the price would decrease back to 0. It would prevent mis-clicks like this.

That sounds like a fair compromise to me. After all, accidents happen.

I don't understand why they would take this feature away at all. If you buy something at 100k and resell it back after you've click off it, it should have the option to sell back for say 95% of your original price you bought if for. I don't see how this would affect the economy at all and would prevent these mistakes from happening. OR is this something EA knew would happen and disabled to drain money more quickly from the game?

Have you ever thought about salvaging what you can to see what kind of supplies you can come up with? Just a suggestion.

I also agree, the 5 minute sellback option would be something they could look into. Or since the stores are the only ones that actually see the full catalog, the option is only if you are a store owner or a roomie in a store lot.

I don't understand why they would take the feature away, either. I know way back when in beta days, things were as they are now...no money back if you sold something back. But I think enough people asked for it or Maxis/EA saw a need for it and added the feature, which made everyone happy. I wish they'd bring it back. If not for everyone, then maybe just shop owners for when we mis-click or buy something for someone who then says it's the wrong item or doesn't want it anymore. It would be very helpful. Especially with how high prices are right now.

I thought about it, but I'd just get wood...it was a bookcase that I bought.
Crafting isn't my thing...and no way would I be able to craft something and make the amount of money selling it that I lost on accidentally buying the bookcase. I'm having enough trouble selling what I do have. But thanks for the suggestion.

I REALLY miss the sell back feature too.
It would be nice to sell back and get at least some small fraction of that money back. Zero is so cruel. I am becoming a pack rat...too afraid to delete anything. It's not good on my back hauling around all that stuff in my invo. :p

Do you think that we'll get that feature back? If mean if they're waiting for the majority of the items that were brought over from the merge to be deleted before doing so...

I hope we will get part of it back.

I can't see how it can hurt anyone, to be able to sell back an item you just bought for 100%, if you haven't taken focus off the item and you haven't done anything else in between.
Like it used to be.

(It was a very useful feature as a store employee. The customer is describing an object and you buy one to show, then sell back immediately if it was wrong.)

Maybe another reason they changed it - in addition to the money wipe/merges - is because cc should have a sellback of 0?
They were just lazy and want the same programming snippet to work for all objects.

Hopefully they can put that "100% refund for immediate sellback" function back.
