The concern that I share with Lineman is that the price of items are being artificially inflated by shill (fake) bidding. We are less concerned with the risk of the actual transaction. There are several ways to mitigate the risk of the transaction. That is not the main issue. However, it is a concern.
There are too many red flags here. Take my points from above, and consider the following...
How did he acquire these rares? Someone with no stratics history and no interest in rares is simply handed billions of gold worth of rares. Contacting you for help moving the goods hardly makes him an honest seller, no offense intended to you, Slickjack.
Ophid
No offense taken, and as I stated in my post, I have no history with him.
I can not vouch for him, nor would I.... I am simply trying to help.
Now, as far as shill bidding goes, if the MODS here see something fishy they will alert us and/or close the thread. This has happened before.
Otherwise, my feelings were that we ALL were first time posters at some point.
If he bought the account legitimately, then he can fairly sale the items on the account thru stratics.
I do know Nightly Spirit, and many others here do as well, and have talk to NS today about all of this. He assured me that the account was sold legally and that the seller is trustworthy.
Fair enough.
Does any of this alleviate the possible shill bidding? NO
But if you want the item bad enough, you'll keep bidding and if the potential shill goes too far then the seller won't sale those "amped up" items.
Either way, I'd use a trusted broker no matter the situation.
