Hi fellow UOers,
as you can see, Im from LA. Been there almost from the start when the shard opened. However, in my years there, I might as well play a single-player game instead of a MMORPG.
The thing is, apart from LA being a very sparsely populated shard, Im located at +12 hrs from most in the US, thus being online at your dawns on weekdays. The idea of cross-sharding finally dawned on me on support from my old guild GM. And so, over the weekend, I created new chars in Atlantic, Pacific, Lake Superior, Great Lakes, as well as, Catskills and popped by Luna Bank.
My first reaction when I saw the crowd at Luna was :"Is there an event going on now?" I had actually experienced 1-sec lags from the sheer number of people that are online there. Such thing has only happened a grand total of TWICE to me in LA during my years there, when I managed to participate in events. If this kind of playerbase is the norm for you guys on more populated shards, then I want a part of it.
Hence, before my big move(currently looking at Catskills, cos frankly, it lags less for me), can I have a sensing from Catskillians(sp) about the shard you guys play in? What about the housing situation? In LA, you can place keeps all over the place. A big factor is the availability of keep-size plots I can own to move my years of junk over.
Looking forward to your inputs!
